It's 9 o'clock onSunday morning. Betty and Tony are in Lingling's home. Last Saturday, I borrowed a camera from my friend Lisa. However, I was so excited that I dropped it on the floor by mistake and it was broken. Oh no! It was the birthday gift from her grandmother. I was worried that she would be a{#blank#}1{#/blank#} with me, so I didn't tell her the t{#blank#}2{#/blank#} at last. But one day, she told me she had already known that, and she said it would be all right. I felt so a{#blank#}3{#/blank#} that I could hardly say a word. At that moment, I really r{#blank#}4{#/blank#} not saying sorry to her in time. I treated her with dishonesty, but she wasn't mad at me. I{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, she smiled and gave me a hug. Since then, I have learned an important lesson: Honesty is valued. So I just keep it in my mind and it's surprising that I have a closer relationship with Lisa than before.

My father was a tennis player and my sister is a high jumper at school. But I'm not interested in sports. At the beginning of this term，my PE teacher suggested that I should take part in the women's marathon（马拉松比赛）. 

I was very surprised because I was never a good runner. In order to encourage me，he said if I took part in the race，I would get the highest mark for the term's PE class. So I decided to have a try. I prepared for the race very hard. I ran every day and had the special diet（膳食）in the morning before school. 

When the day of the marathon arrived，I was very nervous. All my family wished me good luck. They knew how hard I practiced. I was worried that I would be last. However，when I started to run，I thought only about the race. I did not remember when I passed the other runners. Suddenly I realized that I had come first. I was very happy when I won the race. From this，I learned that success always comes out of hard work.

After {#blank#}8{#/blank#} few weeks, the result came out. Simon was very excited {#blank#}9{#/blank#} he won first place. His parents felt surprised. Then they were happy for Simon. They realized (认识到)that different {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(kid)were good at different things.

 It's easy to know if the plate I'm washing is my grandfather's — it will have no food left. My younger brother is the opposite — there's always food left over. The feel of warm water and the dish soap on dinner plates always comfort me a lot at the end of a busy day.

 About a year ago, our family dishwasher broke. My dad had just left for a work trip, so I offered to do the dishes by hand to help my busy mum.

 At first, doing the dishes greatly annoyed me. I was in a rush to get them done because there was endless work waiting for me to do. However, slowly, the task of washing off food leftovers soon led to a transformation in me. So even when we did finally buy a new dishwasher, I still kept washing the dishes by hand after dinner.

I always start with the dinner plates. I have learned to turn them over and wash the bottom. Then I move to any bowls that have been used. After the bowls, I turn to the dishes used to cook.

 Standing in the same place every day, washing the dishes by hand has been more calming and meaningful than I could have ever imagined. For about 15 minutes every day, I can slow down and forget everything in the world as my mind, eyes and hands focus on(专注于) a simple task that would always result in success. Now I'm able to get myself out of all my worries and put myself more wholeheartedly into enjoying the simple task.
