A Concert

    The Newtown School will have a concert on Children's Day. Ann, Ken and David will play together in the concert. Ann will play the piano, Ken will play the guitar, and David will play the drums. Mocky will not play in the concert, but he will go, too.

    All the children and their parents are at the concert, but David will not be there because he is not well today. Who will play the drums? Ken and Anil are worried. But Mocky can play the drums. Believe it or not, he can play really well.

    This is Jim's room. It's not big, but it's very clean(干净的). There is a bed in the room. It's near the door. Under the bed, there are two balls. There is a desk and a chair near the window. There is a bookcase beside the desk. On the bookcase, there are many books and newspapers(报纸). There are two pictures in the room, too. They are on the wall.

    Golden monkeys live only protected by the Chinese government. Their fur is golden and a bit grey. Their tails are as long as their bodies. Male golden monkeys are big and strong while the female ones are much smaller. Golden monkeys live in forests which are 2, 000-3, 000 meters above the sea level. They like living in family groups. They eat fruits, nuts, tree leaves and so on. But now their number is getting smaller and smaller. Our government has built some nature reserves to protect them. We hope more and more people will understand the importance of protecting wild animals. We also hope that people will stop hunting golden monkeys.

    After autumn, winter is coming. It's very cold and snowy. The days are short and the nights are long. We have much time to sleep. I like this season very much, because I like snow. We can make snowmen and have snowball fights together. It is very interesting. Look! It is snowing outside. All the students are very excited. Some boys are making snowballs. David's snowball is bigger. Jim's snowball is smaller. So David wins the fights. He is very happy.

    China is in the east of Asia. It has a lot of beautiful mountains and rivers. Mount Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. The Yangtze River and the Yellow River are the two longest rivers in China.

    China has the largest population in the world. There are more than 1. 3 billion people in China. Most people in China are Han Chinese, but there are 55 other ethnic groups.

    Beijing is the capital of China. It is in the north of China. Beijing is famous for its culture and its food. Peking Opera is world -famous. There are many kinds of local food in Beijing. Beijing duck is the most famous one.

Everyone in Mr. Brown's family is going to be busy this weekend. On Saturday Morning, Mr. Brown is going to the bank. Mrs. Brown is going to buy some food. Their daughter Ann is going to do her homework. Ann's brother Tom is going to do his homework, too. In the afternoon, they're going to visit Ann and Tom's grandparents. They're going by train because Ann and Tom's grandparents' home is far from theirs. They're going to come back home on Saturday afternoon.
