Three Chinese astronauts returned to Earth today (April 30, 2024) after six months in space.

The Shenzhou-17 spaceship landed in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region today at 5:46 pm Beijing time, about nine hours after leaving China's Tiangong space station.

All three Shenzhou-17 members—Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie and Jiang Xinlin—are healthy and safe, according to Xinhua News Agency.

It was sent into space on October 25 and arrived at Tiangong about 6.5 hours later. It was China's sixth manned (载人的) visit to Tiangong.

The Shenzhou-17 crew (乘组) was the youngest crew ever to visit Tiangong: Tang Hongbo was 48, Tang Shengjie was 34 and Jiang Xinlin was 35. However, that record was just broken by the astronauts of the Shenzhou-18: Ye Guangfu, Li Guangsu and Li Cong were just 43, 36 and 34 years old.

The Shenzhou-17 crew did a lot of scientific experiments (实验) during the six months. They performed two space walks—one in December, 2023 and the other in March, 2024. On February 9, 2024, the astronauts specially recorded a video to send New Year's greetings to everyone on the space station. On April 25, they welcomed the crew of Shenzhou-18 to Tiangong space station. Five days later, Shenzhou-17 manned spaceship returned and landed successfully. The crew members were in good physical condition. This manned flight was a complete success!

For thousands of years, tea is loved by many people around the world. It has finally received top-level global recognition as a shared cultural treasure of our humans. On November 29, 2022, traditional tea processing techniques and their related social customs in China were added to UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity（联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产名录）. Following "Wangchuan Ceremony（送王船）" in 2020,this project is the 43rd one to be successfully added to the list and there are 44 sub-projects in total belonging to this main project.

Chinese tea culture began as early as over 5,000 years ago. It's said the ruler Shen Nong was the first to discover tea as a drink by accident. But during the Three-Kingdom Period, people paid more attention to its medical value. In the Tang Dynasty, tea-tasting became an important part for poets' life. Bai Juyi wrote 64 poems about tea in his lifetime.

 According to UNESCO, in China traditional tea processing techniques are closely connected to location and natural environment. The area of tea planting in China is about between 18°-37°N and 94°-122°E. Tea-related customs are not only found across the country, but also influenced the rest of the world through the ancient Silk Road. In western countries, tea firstly became popular in Britain in the 17th century, and then the whole of Europe. When it came to the late 18th and 19th centuries, 10% of a British person's income（money made from work） at the time was spent on tea, making it one of the most important expensive goods.

The first Starbucks coffee shop opened in 1971 in a town of Seattle, Washington, in the United States. It was a small coffee shop that cooked its own coffee beans. The coffee shop's business did well, and by 1981 there were three more Starbucks stores in Seattle and they joined into a small company. 

Things really began to change for the company in 1981. That year. Howard Schultz met the three men who run （经营） Starbucks. Schultz worked in New York for a company that made kitchen instrument. He noticed that Starbucks ordered a large number of special coffee makers, and he was interested in the company. Schultz went to Seattle to see what Starbucks did and he liked what he saw. He wanted to become part of the company. In 1982, the original (原先的)Starbucks owners chose Schultz as the company's head of marketing. 

In 1983, Schultz travelled to Italy. The special atmosphere(氛围) of the coffee bars there caught his eye. To Schultz, it seemed that Italians spent their daily lives in three places: home, work, and coffee bars. His experience in Italy gave Schultz a new idea for Starbucks back in Seattle. 

Schultz created an atmosphere for Starbucks coffee shops that was comfortable, and customers everywhere seemed to like it. Between 1987 and 1992, Starbucks opened 150 new stores - and that was only the beginning. In fact, by the year 2000, three new Starbucks stores opened somewhere around the world every day!

Today, Starbucks has thousands of stores, including stores in twenty - six countries. One thing that helps make Starbucks succeed in cities outside the United States is the way Starbucks works with local stores and restaurants. By working together with a store already in the city, Starbucks gets an understanding of customers in the city. This understanding helps Starbucks open stores in the right places for their customers. 

 You are walking down the street. Suddenly it starts to rain and you don't have an umbrella. What do you do? Run or walk?

 Most people would rather run because it will get you out of the rain faster. But if you run, you also run into more raindrops. So, what should you do?

 Things are more complicated(复杂的) than you might think. Franco Bocci, a professor at the University of Brescia in Italy, found that whether you should travel slowly or quickly in the rain depends on the wind direction and your body shape, according to the BBC

 When there is no wind, and the rain lands directly on you, Bocci suggests that you should run and hide as fast as possible. But if the wind comes from behind and blows the rain onto your back, the best thing to do is to walk at the same speed as the wind. This way , both your front and back will stay mostly dry.

 This is not all. When the wind blows in from the side, you' ll have to think about one more thing— your body shape. Thinner people are hit by fewer raindrops. In this case, a fatter person had better run while a thinner person should still try to match their speed to the wind.

" In general, the best thing is to run, as fast as you can- not always, but in general ." Bocci told BBC News," If you' re really thin, it's more probable that there will be a best speed. Otherwise , it is better to run fast."

Now you know what to do next time the rain catches you in the middle of the street. But the best way to stay dry is still to carry an umbrella.

Wuxi City in eastern China's Jiangsu Province is known as the 'Home of the erhu" because it is the birthplace of many erhu masters.  Looking around Wuxi，you can often hear the beautiful sound of the erhu. The erhu was called the huqin at first, a musical instrument of ethnic(种族的)groups in northern China，and it dates more than a thousand years back to the Tang Dynasty. In modern times，with the development of operas, the huqin was renamed the erhu and it slowly spread throughout China. 

The erhu plays a leading role in many Chinese folk orchestras(管弦乐队)just as the violin does in Western orchestras. They are both made up of a body，a bridge，strings(弦)and a bow(弓). 

The performer usually holds the erhu straightly on the leg,▲and pressing the strings with his fingers, while drawing the bow with his right hand. As the bow runs against the strings and touches and shakes them, beautiful music comes. 

Not limited (限制)by just two strings，a good player can give the erhu amazing emotional expressions. It can present both soft, lovely songs and sad music. Sometimes it gives a human crying voice, and sometimes a great horse-running sound. 

Today, as a folk instrument, the erhu has been used more widely by communicating with Western musical instruments. In many international concerts, the erhu can be seen playing with different Western instruments, such as the piano，violin and guitar. This performance form not only adds new possibilities to music creation，but also brings richer enjoyment to the listeners. 

On a rainy evening, Lily was walking home from school. She forgot her umbrella (雨伞) and she had to hurry along the street. At that time she saw an old woman carry some heavy shopping bags. Lily decided to help.

"Can I help you with your bags?" Lily asked the old woman. The woman smiled and nodded her head. Together, they walked to the woman's house, talking along the way. The old woman told Lily about her life and how she lived alone. Lily felt good and happy when talking with her.

When they arrived at the old woman's house, the woman asked Lily to dry off (变干) and have some hot chocolate. Lily said yes and they spent some time talking. The old woman was very kind and told Lily how much she thanked her.

As Lily left the house, the rain stopped, and she felt warm inside. She learned that helping others not only brings them happiness but also makes her happy. From that day on, Lily made it a point to help others whenever she could.
