    Last Friday, I learned a lesson about telling lies. Early in morning, I didn't want to go to school, but I pretended to feel ill. My mother was very worrying when I told her. She left quickly and I thought she has gone to work. But soon, she came back with a bottle of medicines. She said that she had asked for a day off work to look for me. I felt a little guilty but I dared not tell the true. That afternoon, my teacher came to visit to me. I felt so regretfully for telling lies. I had wasted anybody's time.     Last week, I take part in the Cultural Exchange Week. I enjoyed myself in England. I visited the city museum and several place of interest, which made me have better understanding of the English society, culture and history.

    What's more, I was luckily enough to meet my pen friend Tom there. I stayed at his home. And I'll never forget the days when we spent together. When I left England, he offered to me a dictionary for a gift. It's of great help for me to learn English. I will make full use of them and learn English good.

    Jeff Van Gundy, head coach of the Houston Rockets, have a dream. He wants Yao Ming to be like other players, that are “selfish” and want the ball all time. Besides, Yao is a selfless person. The reason is that he has been brought up and train in this way. When he first arrive in America, Yao was an instant hit among basketball fans nationwide. They all loved this kind giant.

    Gundy wants Yao to be aggressive and, if necessary, to be rude for his teammates. At first, Yao didn't really understand that what the coach wanted, but now she understands. Gundy said, “He has to be a little polite and rude”.

    Last Sunday, I accompanied two of my foreign friends, Tom or Mary, around Chengdu so that they could get a feeling of the amazed city. We began by touring Kuan Zhai Alley, that is known for its traditional Chinese architecture. I know the area very good so I acted as their tour guide. For lunch, I tried some Chengdu fried sauce noodles. Tom thought that they were in particularly delicious. Soon before lunch, we went to the Research Base of Giant Panda to pay a visit to the pandas. Both Mary and Tom fall in love with the lovely pandas. We finished off the day by going shopping, and they bought some paper cuts as souvenir. It was fantastic day and I hope they will come to Chengdu again.

    A shop owner told me a story, that moved people in the neighborhood deep. One day, a hungry homeless dog came and the owner gave it up some food to eat. To his surprise, it comes to his shop whenever he opens a door. The owner has gradually realized that it doesn't come for food and repays him. Every day, it sits besides the goods outside the shop and acts for a guide. When customer come near, it barks to remind the owner come out to serve them. Thus, the dog had found a home and the owner had a faithful employee.

    Last year I went to the seaside to spend my summer holiday with my family. We stay there for about two weeks. The weather was much hot than that in my hometown, and I got used to it. Every morning, I got up early and went for a breakfast ahead of time. Then I went the beach and talked with John, that was my new friend and I came across her in my first morning there. John was warm-hearted and he seemed to be very familiarly with the seaside village. Soon we became very good friend. We have kept write to each other ever since then.
