Driving to the airport in the early morning. I felt {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (excite) because I would spend the summer in Paris. While looking for more interesting things  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (do) besides sleeping and eating on the plane, I jumped at the chance to study French in this city {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (know) for its art, food, and culture.

    My connecting flight (转机) was in Frandfurt, Germany, 14 hours from Denver. But when I arrived there, a feeling of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (anxious) began to set in. Being in a big, busy building in a country  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I could not speak the language made me nervous,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} as I found my way, I gained confidence. When I boarded the second plane and discovered that the flight was less than an hour, I was filled with excitement.

    When I stepped on foreign ground for the first time, I was  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (extreme) happy. I gathered my bags and joined the crowd of people {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (wait) for friends and family. I quickly had my first experience trying to communicate{#blank#}9{#/blank#} a language that I had only practiced in school. As I left  {#blank#}10{#/blank#} airport, with one sharp turn, the Eiffel Tower came into view. I was finally in Paris.

    As a kid I disliked most vegetables. My daily meal consisted {#blank#}1{#/blank#} sugary cereal (谷类食物)in the mornings with whole milk, bread with butter for lunch along with chips, and a plate of white rice with chicken for dinner with either soda {#blank#}2{#/blank#} juice to drink. Whenever {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (go) out on weekends. I always chose fast food. An order of chicken nuggets with a side of fries was what I always wanted.

    Then the food that I loved {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (begin) to give me chest pains, heart burns, and stomachaches. I quickly realized that this couldn't end in anything good. So I decided {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (put) a stop to my unhealthy diet. I cut out fast food from my diet and instead searched for places {#blank#}6{#/blank#} offered me steamed vegetables, fruits, and foods higher in protein like beans which were things that I had been previously lacking in my diet.

    Making a change will never be {#blank#}7{#/blank#}easy task but sometimes it takes a hit of tugging to push us towards {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(we) goal. In my case it took an upset stomach and chest pains to learn that fast food wasn't the best choice for my health, but thanks to this now I feel {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(well) than ever. I am {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (constant) going to the gym, and I'm still eating what I love while supporting ray own body.

    Everyone needs to know how to prevent a fire. It is also important to know what to do when it {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (break) out.

    Every year, over 11, 000 people {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (kill) or injured in house fires. These fires could have been avoided. Smokers who are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (care) cause about 200 deaths and over 6, 000 fires. More than of those {#blank#}4{#/blank#} die in fires are poisoned or harmed by smoke.

    If fire happens, do not attempt to fight the fire unless it is small. Try putting out a small fire with water. If {#blank#}5{#/blank#} fire has spread or if the flames are more than 20 inches high, shut the door on it. Warn everyone else in the building and tell them to get out. You should leave and dial 911 for the fire department.

    Before {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (go) into a room, check the door. If the handle or the door is hot, do not open it! Instead, put clothing or a wet towel at the bottom of it to keep smoke out. If the door is not hot, open it {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (slow). If there is a rush of smoke heat, close it again and shout to warn {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (other) inside.

    Now open the window and shout "Fire!". See whether you can drop safely to the ground. Use this {#blank#}9{#/blank#} your escape course if you can. If you are not on ground level, break your fall by pushing a mat out first. Lower yourself at arm's {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (long) before dropping. Once outside, stay out outside and make sure the fire department is called.
