I was in a shopping mall, so I decided to go and get a cup of coffee. As I was making my way to the coffee shop, I noticed an old gentleman poorly dressed sitting near the shop. I knew from the first sight that he needed help. He had a little lunch in front of him and was enjoying it. It was clear that he had a problem with his right eye. I then joined the line and waited to be served.

    Then it happened. One of the most beautiful gestures(姿态) I had ever seen in my life. There was a young man in front of me in the line who was also waiting to be served. The next thing I knew was that the young man handed the waitress(女服务员) 20 dollars and requested a glass of juice as a favor(善行). The waitress looked at the young man a little perplexed, not fully understanding the request. That was when the young man asked her to give the juice to the old gentleman eating his lunch outside, as well as the change(零钱) from the 20 dollars. The young man also told her that he would be watching every second so that she would be completely safe. Then there was a wonderful exchange between the waitress and the old man. I only wished I could take a photo of the smiles on both of their faces.

As I was considering this event later, I wondered why the young man didn't perform this act of kindness himself. Maybe he was hoping that this act of kindness might inspire(激励) others to do something for this old man as well.

    Gaynor lived in Oakenholt, a village in North Wales. On her way home from school, she saw a silver(银色的) object shaped like a saucer(茶碟) in a field not far from her home.

    The strange craft(飞行物) was about 30 feet long and 9 feet high. It had yellow windows along the side and on the top there was a light flashing in a kind of box. Although Gaynor was very frightened, she did not run away. Instead, she lay quietly in the long grass and watched the door of the strange craft open.     Although Gaynor told her mother what she had seen, her family decided to keep quiet about it. They did not want people to laugh at their daughter. However, 18 months later, Gaynor told her story to UFO experts. They hypnotized(使进入睡眠状态) Gaynor so that they could be sure she was telling the truth.

    Not only did she repeat her story, but also she was able to draw a picture of what she had seen!

    One Sunday, Jim went to town to buy new clothes. First he tried on a sweater. He didn't like it, so he returned it to the storekeeper. Then he tried on a T-shirt that had the same price as the sweater. Jim was satisfied with the T-shirt, and he left the store with it. Before he climbed on his horse to go home, the storekeeper and the assistant ran out at the same time.

    "You didn't pay for the T-shirt!" said the storekeeper.

    "But I gave the sweater in exchange for the T-shirt, didn't I?" replied Jim.

    "Yes, but you didn't pay for the sweater!" said the storekeeper.

    "But I didn't buy the sweater." said Jim,

    "I am not so stupid to pay for something that I have never bought."

    Two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming from China has beaten Thai boxer(拳击手)Prasitsak Phaprom to be the WBO(世界拳击组织)flyweight world champion.

    "My dream is realized and all the hard work paid off. I felt calm and relaxed throughout the match. I am an Olympic gold medalist and now I am a world champion," the 35-year-old Zou said.

    Zou has been known for being China's boxing star of all time. His first big win was when he took the Light Flyweight Silver Medal in 2003. And he became the first Chinese boxer ever to win a gold medal in 2005.

    Zou once said his dream is to make it big in the US and fight in Las Vegas for a world event. "Las Vegas is always the big stage that all professional（职业的）boxers dream of," he said. "I promised to achieve my dreams to win world events and to bring China into the worldwide boxing family." Now he has put China on the global(全球的)boxing map.

    "As a boxer, you will always taste blood. Cuts and injuries are common. If they scare you, you will never become a good fighter," said Zou.
