My uncle David was thirty-six years old when he resigned(辞职). At that time he was a  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(主管) in a big company. Everyone thought he was {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(发 疯 的) and worried about his future. But it  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(似乎) now he is more successful. Uncle David always wanted to be a presenter. He loved working in radio and enjoyed the feeling of  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(采访) people. That was why he left the company and started from scratch(从头开始).

It was not easy, however. At first, he found a  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (兼职的) job at a radio station. His main job was to collect the latest   {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(国家的) and local news and write reports. It sounded boring, but David kept doing this day in and day out. With a good educational   {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(背景) and great effort, he did a great job. After several months his  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(文章) caught the manager's attention. One year later, he began to introduce his own programme. It was a success and it won the hearts of many  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (听众).

Uncle David has set a good  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(例子) for me. What I have learnt from him is that it's never too late to fulfill my dream.

The octopus(章鱼) usually has eight legs.But Ollie, the octopus, has only seven ones. Ollie's mum always feels 1 about it.

At home, Ollie's brother and sister 2 her. "Ollie has only seven legs so she is not our family," her sister Olivia says. But it isn't true. 

"Go away. I don't want to play with 3 ." her brother Oscar tells Ollie.

Ollie is really sad. She swims away and starts 4 . Then, a sea fairy(仙女) comes out, " Don't cry, little octopus, "the fairy says. "You can make three wishes."

Ollie thinks for a minute, and makes the 5 wish. "I hope my mum can always be happy." She says.

 "OK. Now you have two more wishes." the fairy says.

 "I hope Olivia can be honest(诚实的). And I hope Oscar can be 6 ."

 "You are so kind, little octopus. I 7 you all the best." the fairy says and swims away.

When Ollie gets home, her mum gives her a big smile. 8 Olivia and Oscar say "Come and play with us, little sister." Ollie is happy. Her wishes 9 .

On Ollie's birthday, she makes a wish for the 10 leg. The next day, she has the same number of legs as her sister and brother! Great!

In 1987 a small company named Huawei was started in Shenzhen. After more than 30years of development , the company has now beaten Apple and become the world's second largest maker of smartphones. It has also be-come the world's largest supplier(供应商)of 5G. 

But recently, Huawei faces some difficulties. The US government made a law to stop its sales in America. American officials said Huawei gave information that it collected to the Chinese government. At the same time, the US government stopped selling parts and services to Huawei. They believed that Huawei's business would be hurt this way. 

"We have never received such a request from the Chinese government and we have never tried to get into other systems to collect information, " Ren Zhengfei, Huawei's president said. "The law would have little effect on our company. Huawei has enough ability to deal with the problems, " Ren added. 

In an interview(采访) several years ago, Ren Zhengfei said, "I started Huawei with only£ 4, 000 at the beginning, but now it has be-come a $ 100 billion company. The experience was not as romantic as you imagine. "

Facing the law of the US, Huawei is growing. Huawei's smartphone sales around the world rose 50 percent compared with a year earlier in the first three months of 2019. So far, Huawei has grown into the world's largest telecommunication equipment supplier(电信设备供应商), selling in 170 countries! It may beat Samsung as the largest smart phone maker in the near future. 

It is Sunday today. Ann is shopping with her mother. She wants her mother to buy a new sweater for her. In a clothing shop, she finds an orange one. She tries it on (试穿). It is too small. She wants a bigger one, but the bigger ones are not orange. Ann doesn't like other colours. Her mother asks:" Shall we go to another shop to have a look? " So they go out of the shop and go into another one.

 The second shop is bigger than the first, and in it there are many kinds of sweaters of different sizes and colours. Ann tries on an orange one. It is too big. She tries a smaller one. It is OK.

"How much is it ?" Ann's mother asks the women who sells clothes. Then they find it too dear (贵), and they don't have so much money with them. 

"Would you like a cheaper one ? " The women asks.

" No, we shall take this one. My daughter likes it. We will come back to buy it tomorrow. " Ann's mother answers.

 Dad wanted to take us for a trip. We planned {#blank#}1{#/blank#}( travel) to Dali. It's far from our city. So we {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( decide) to go there by plane. It cost us much money, but it's the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( fast) way to travel. My sister and I felt {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( excite) because it was the first time that we had traveled there.

 We got there {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the evening of September 15th. We felt a little tired. After relaxing in {#blank#}6{#/blank#}( we) hotel for a few hours, my sister and I went out for the evening sightseeing tour. My parents didn't like it, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} they stayed at the hotel.

 On the first day, we took a taxi to Cangshan. The view was wonderful. To remember the wonderful time, I took many {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( photo). We took {#blank#}9{#/blank#} boat on Lake Erhai on the second day. For dinner, we had something special— rice noodles. We never had that before. On the third day, we visited Dali Old Town. Walking around the beautiful town was {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ( real) relaxing.

 The trip was short, but we had a great time in Dali.
