      What do you usually do to get pocket money from your parents? In western countries, many children do chores to get pocket money. They usually start to do this at 10 years old.
School students have to do homework and study for tests. They don't have a lot of free time in the week. They often do chores at the weekend.
       Young kids only do easy chores. So they don't get much money. But that's all right. Many of them only want to buy candy. And candy is cheap! They help wash up after dinner and feed the family cat or dog.
When they get older, kids want to buy more and more things. They want things that are more expensive than candy. Then they have to work harder! They often wash the family car, cut the grass, walk the dog and cook dinner.
Some jobs are a good way for kids to learn new things. For example, they can learn to use a lawnmower(割草机) or how to cook. Of course, their parents help them at first.

(2)、When do they usually start to get pocket money?

下面文章中有五处(第31-35题)需要添加小标题,从以下选项A~F中选出能概括每一段主题的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余项。
A. The engine in your body.
B. The location, size and heartbeat of a heart.
C. What happens when the heart beats?
D. How does your heart work?
E. How do we know about the heart?
F. What can a doctor tell by feeling your pulse?
       {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
Your heart is located in your chest, a little to your left. This heart of yours, which is about the size of your two fists held together, beats about 90 times a minute. A grown person's heart beats about 60 to 80 times a minute. The heartbeat is not just the same in all persons, and it is not the same in any one person at all times.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#}
When your heart beats, it is pumping blood to all parts of your body. If you could examine your heart closely, you would see that it is really two pumps placed side by side, and working at the same time. Each pump has two parts, the upper part called the auricle (心房), and the lower part called the ventricle (心室). The auricles receive the blood as it comes into them after it has been pumped through the body. The ventricles pump the blood out. The right one pumps the blood to the lungs and the left one pumps the blood to all other parts of the body. At the top and bottom openings of each ventricle are valves (阀门) which make the blood go in only one direction.
{#blank#}3{#/blank#}
 Your heart is sometimes called the engine or the motor in your body and sometimes called the pump. It works away, both day and night. First it pumps out some blood, rests for a few seconds, and then it pumps some more. In a normal day, the heart pumps about 2,500 gallons of blood from the auricles and ventricles.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#}
By using a stethoscope to listen to the heart, the doctor can tell whether your heart is beating evenly and whether the valves are closing tightly. The stethoscope makes these sounds so clear that the doctor can hear them easily. The stethoscope has an earpiece that he places on your chest and tubes that he places in his ear. The earpiece carries the sound or your heart's beating along the tubes to the doctor's ears, and it makes the sound seem much louder than it really is. The doctor could listen to your heartbeat by pulling his ear against your chest.
{#blank#}5{#/blank#}
An easy experiment can help you understand what happens when the heart beats. You can do this experiment with a hollow rubber ball. Make a small hole in it, and fill the ball with water through the hole. When you squeeze the ball, you will notice how the water comes out in a spurt each time you squeeze. After each spurt the ball comes back to its round shape again. Something like this happens when your heart beats. The muscles(肌肉) in your heart grow smaller, or contract, and squeeze the blood out of the heart. Each time this happens, we say your heart is beating. Perhaps you have noticed that the doctor places his finger on the pulse in your wrist when you are ill. By doing this he can tell how fast your heart is beating.
根据短文内容,从短文后的五个选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。每个选项只能用一次。

From the Other Side

    Lara and Tara are twins.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, but they are very different in everything else. For example, hot food is Lara's favorite, and Tara has a sweet choice.

    However, this isn't the problem with the twin girls. They always argued that the opposite one was wrong.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, while Tara insisted that mornings were fresh and it was difficult to stay up till midnight.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. To put an end to their fights, their parents decided to create a small drama. They wanted the girls to understand that they were both correct from their own point of view. Their parents covered the girls' eyes with black ribbons, and brought them to the dining room. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Lara was asked to stand on one side of the board and Tara on the other. They couldn't see the other side of it. When the ribbons were taken away, they were surprised to see a huge board between them.

    Now, their father asked Lara, "What's the color of the board?" She replied, "It's black!" {#blank#}5{#/blank#}She replied, "It's white!" The two girls began to argue again. While Lara was confident it was black, Tara was sure it was white. Then, they were asked to exchange(交换)their places. They couldn't believe their eyes. Tara, who insisted it was a white board, saw a black one. Similarly, Lara, who argued the board was black, was shocked to see a white one. They understood that each of them was right in her own view. Most of us are like Lara and Tara. We are right most times, but insist that others are wrong!

A. They look like each other

B. For years, their arguments continued

C. Their mother asked Tara the same question

D. In the room, a big board was placed in the middle

E. Lara thought it was terrible to get up early in the morning
