Clouds change every second, bringing nature's{#blank#}1{#/blank#}to us But can you see it?

Cloud spotting, by its name, is just looking at clouds. Some people do cloud spotting to simply relax {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Others do it to try and better understand clouds, from their {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to their names. Ji Yun, 36, is a cloud spotting expert in Beijing. 

In October 2013, Ji got a message from a friend, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}that some rare (稀有的) clouds were heading toward southeastern Beijing. Ji then bought tickets and went on a high-speed train to chase after them. 

"As soon as I got the information, I{#blank#}5{#/blank#}out of my home. After guessing where they were likely to head. I took a train to Tianjin. In the end, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} in taking several wonderful pictures in the Wuqing district of Tianjin, "Ji said. The cloud took pictures of{#blank#}7{#/blank#}out to be one of the world's top 10 rarest clouds. 

This experience made Ji famous among the cloud spotters. He set up a WeChat group later that {#blank#}8{#/blank#}year to put people with similar hobbies together. They then set up chat groups in 2019 to cover different areas of China. Now, there are plenty of cloud spotting chat groups. Together, they became known as the Sky Enthusiasts Association(天空爱好者协会). Three years after the association was set up, cloud lovers collected every kind of cloud in the International Cloud Atlas. The International Cloud Atlas is a reference (查阅) book made by the World Meteorological （气象）Organization. 

"We created a book with all of these {#blank#}9{#/blank#} photos. And then we published （出版) it in late 2023, " Ji said. "This is a gift to all{#blank#}10{#/blank#}who love clouds. "

My only purpose was to become the star on our football team. That meant beating out Miller King, who was the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(good) player in our school. On my {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (thirteen) birthday this year, I promised I would make it come true.

Football season started in September and all summer long I worked out. I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (carry) my football everywhere for practice. Just before September, Miller was struck {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a car and lost his right arm. I went to see him after he came back from hospital. He looked very pale, but he didn't cry.

That season, I broke all of Miller's {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (record) while he watched the home games from the bench. We went 10:11 {#blank#}6{#/blank#} I was named "Most Valuable Player", but I often had crazy dreams in which I was to blame (责备) for Miller's accident.

One afternoon, I was crossing the field to go home and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (see) Miller in trouble climbing over a fence which wasn't difficult to climb if you had both arms. I'm sure I was the last person in the world he wanted to accept help from. But even that challenge he accepted. I helped him move slowly over the fence. When we were {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (final) safe on the other side, he said to me, "You know. I didn't tell you this during the season, but you did {#blank#}9{#/blank#} fine job. Thank you for doing the job for me."

His words freed (解脱) me from {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (I) bad dreams. I thought to myself how even without an arm he was more of a leader. Damaged but not defeated, he was still ahead of me. I was right to have respected him. From that day on, I grew bigger and a little more real.

I am a Grade 9 student. I love the National Day holiday a lot, because I can do many things I enjoy. How did I spend the seven-day holiday last year? I didn't travel or visit friends. I found a part-time job.

That was the first time I had been a waiter (服务员). It was harder than I had thought. At first, I was not good at the job, and I nearly spilt (洒出) the soup on a woman's dress. Some people were very unfriendly, and they got angry ( 生气的) with me because of my mistakes. I was so sad and tired that I was almost ready to give up the first afternoon.

A family with three children came to have dinner the next day. The children were asking for things all the time. I tried my best to serve them well. Then the father said to me, "Good job! Thank you very much for helping us." His words were just like a light in the dark. My tiredness suddenly went away. In the following days, I got used to the job little by little, and I had fun working in the restaurant.

When I got the money at last, I felt very happy. The experience taught me that many jobs are not easy. Everyone is great when they are working hard. The most important thing I learned is how much praise (称赞) matters to people. It can give us lots of strength (力量). I think my National Day holiday last year was interesting and meaningful.

Last week I went to an art show. A painting caught my eyes. To my amazement(惊奇), it was painted by Steven, one of my {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Then many things about him came into my mind. Steven was from a poor family. His parents{#blank#}2{#/blank#} not afford to buy him some basic things that he needed. Once our school provided gloves for poor children. I put Steven's name on the list. He was so {#blank#}3{#/blank#} when he received a pair. He loved to wear them and they were always {#blank#}4{#/blank#} than anybody else's. Steven had a gift(天赋) for painting and he could {#blank#}5{#/blank#} understand what I described in class. But he didn't have money to buy the paper for painting. So sometimes, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} him some. He practiced hard. And I often showed his paintings of the class. He was greatly {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.

 One day just before the summer vacation, he came to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} some art books. When the new term began, he showed some of {#blank#}9{#/blank#} paintings to me. I felt shocked. They were very good. Then we talked a lot. He said he would keep on. Later he was admitted(录取) to a famous art university. After graduation, he had many difficulties, but he never gave up. He was always {#blank#}10{#/blank#} his best to improve himself. His hard work and strong mind led to his success.

My name is Henry Adams. When I was 27, I worked in New York. One Saturday afternoon, I sailed my small boat, but a strong wind pushed me into the Pacific Ocean. Luckily, a British ship going to London saved me.

I had only one dollar when I got to London. I was tired and hungry. Then, a man from a nearby house called me inside. I went into a nice room where two old men were talking. The two men were brothers. They had been arguing (争吵) for days about something strange. One brother said, "If an honest and smart stranger comes to London with no friends or money, with only a £1,000,000 bank note, he will die from hunger. If he tries to change this big note at the bank, the police will think he stole it and arrest (逮捕) him." The other brother disagreed.

The two men decided to solve their argument with a bet. They chose me because I looked honest and clever. Also, I was new to England. One of them gave me an envelope (信封) and told me not to open it until I was in my hotel room.

After leaving the house, I opened the envelope and saw money inside! I rushed to the nearest restaurant. After eating, I tried to pay with the money but found out it was a one million pound note! It made my head swim. No one could cash (兑现金) it. The restaurant owner said, "You can pay whenever you want, sir. I know you are a rich gentleman playing jokes by dressing like a poor man."

I quickly went back to the house but was told they had left for a trip. Then I remembered the letter in the envelope. It said, "In this envelope, you will find some money. It is yours for only 30 days. At the end of that time, return to this house. We have a bet on you." How strange! Then, I went to a clothes shop to buy a cheap suit. When I showed the shop owner the bank note, he got angry because the salesman (销售员) sold me such a bad suit.
