Bill: Yes, mum. 

Mum: Are you reading in the bedroom?

Bill: No, I am not.

Mum: What are you doing?

Bill: To tell you the truth, I am playing a computer game. Mum: What game is it?

Bill: Driving Car.

Mum: Is it very interesting?

Bill: Yes, it is. Oh, my car is broken. (坏了). 

Mum: Well, I think you should do some reading.

What Is My Job?

    Jim, Sam, Linda and I live in a building with four floors. We live on different floors. We have different jobs : one is a driver, one is a manager(经理) ,one is painter and one is a writer. I live above( 在……上面)Linda but below (在……下面)Jim. Sam lives on the fourth floor. The driver lives above the manager but below the writer. The painter lives on the first floor. Do you know who I am and what my job is?

    One Sunny day, a rich old businessman in a small town meets a factory worker, a coach and a fisherman. He gives them three seeds and says "Bring me the flowers in three months. The man with the most beautiful flower can have my much money!"

    After 3 months, the factory worker brings a big red flower. The coach brings a small purple flower. But the poor fisherman bring nothing. He is very sad, "I don't know why, I watered it every day".

    The businessman says, "You are honest! The seeds are bad and will never sprout! The much money is yours."

    Finally the fisherman is very very happy. The other two men feel quite ashamed and sad.

    It's a sunny morning. It's warm but not hot. Jack sees an old man with a black umbrella walking on the street.
    Jack is very curious (好奇的). So he asks the old man. "Hello. Would you tell me why you bring the umbrella?" The old man answers, "My legs are not strong. If I carry a walking stick, people will say, 'How poor the man is!' I don't like this. So I carry an umbrella to help me. When people see I'm walking with an umbrella in a fine day, they will only say, 'How foolish the man is!' "

Woman: Good morning, what can I do for you?

Peter: Yes, please. I want to buy a pair of boy's pants. Do you have any?

Woman: Of course. Look at these brown pants. They're only 69 yuan.

Peter: They're not expensive. But they're too small. I won't take them.

Woman: What about this black one? Do you like the black colour?

Peter: No, I don't. Look, I like a pair of those blue pants. How much are they?

Woman: Ninety-eight yuan.

Peter: OK, I'll take them.

Woman: Do you want anything else?

Peter: No, thanks.
