“   USA? England? Australia? Which country is better to study in?” As China opens its door, many Chinese students want to learn about the world. It's true that studying abroad(国外的) can help students develop themselves. Students' language skills will be improved and it may be easier for them to find a job.

   But there are problems that should be considered(考虑). Language is the first. Students must use a lot of time to learn another language and to get used to a different culture.

    Students must also learn to live without parents' care and deal with all kinds of things. When they have to take care of themselves, it is hard for the students to study well.

    Finally, studying abroad brings a heavy burden (负担)to the family. For most Chinese parents, the cost of studying abroad is very high. But is it worth(值得)it?

    We know that there are many famous people who succeed in great things through their hard work in China. Liu Xiang is a good example.

    Do some colours makes you feel calm while others give you energy? Scientists have studied the connection between colour and mood(心情) for a long time. Many believe that colour can influence our moods.

    Warm, bright colours such as yellow and red are positive colours. They can give people a pleasant feeling. Cool colours such as blue, purple, and green are relaxing colours. They help people experience calm feelings.

    Many public places are decorated(装饰) with certain colours in order to create certain moods. Orange makes people feel hungry, and many restaurants are painted in this colour.

    People use colour in their homes to create moods as well. Blue is a peaceful colour. It helps you rest, so it is a very good colour for a bedroom.

    Colours can also create bad moods. Some types of blue make people feel sad. Red can make people feel angry.

    What is your mood right now? Now look at the colour of the walls round you. Does it match your mood?

    As you know, homework is a big part of going to school. Luckily, here are several suggestions for you to make homework easy.

    Make a homework plan

    Most middle school students have two or three hours of homework a night. If it is a heavy homework day, you may need to spend even more time. It is a good idea to come up with some kind of homework schedule(进度表), especially if you are going to do sports or other activities after school.

    Watch where you work

    A bedroom, study or any room where you can get away from noise is good for you to do your homework. But don't study on your comfortable bed, or you might fall asleep there.

    Take a break

    Most people's attention (注意力) don't last very long, so take some breaks while doing your homework. Sitting for too long without relaxing will make you less productive(多产的) than if you stop to take a break regularly. Taking a 15-minute break every hour is a good way for most people.

    Get help when you need it

    Sometimes even though you are listening carefully in class, some subjects seem too hard. The first person to ask for help is your teacher. He or she may be able to work with you before or after school and explain things more clearly. Your classmates may also be able to give you a hand. However, this might not give you the results you want. Lots of people understand something well but are not able to explain it.

    If you want to learn English well. You have to practice speaking English! Use these sentences to help you start interesting conversations in English.

    Moving out, moving back

    In the countries all over the world, people are leaving the countryside in large numbers to find jobs in the cities. They leave because the countryside is much poorer than the city and often there isn't much work there. Services such as hospital and transport are usually much better in cities than they are in the country. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

    But in the big cities of Europe and America-London. Pairs, New York, people are moving out of the city. These are usually families who have some money, and want to live a quieter life. They are tired of the noise and the dirt of the city, tired of the crowded streets, crowded trains and buses. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} They want a house with a garden, and clean air that isn't polluted.

    So they move out. Some don't go very far, just a little way out of the city, to the towns near the cities. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

There are sheep and cows and green fields! There, they start a new life and try to make new friends.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} After two or three years, many people who have done this feel that it was a big mistake. They don't make so much money and there isn't much to do. The people there are very different and aren't always very friendly. .{#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

    "It's wonderful to see crowds in the streets and cinema lights, "they say, "I'm so glad I'm back in the city!"

    In some Western countries, many children do chores to get pocket money (零花钱).

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#}School students have to do homework and study for tests. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} They often do chores on weekends.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} So they don't get much money. But that's enough. Many of them only want to buy candy(糖果). And candy is cheap! They often help do the dishes, sweep the floor, or feed the pet cat or dog.

    When they get older, they want to buy more and more things. They want things that are more expensive than candy. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They often help their parents wash the family car, cut the grass, or cook meals.
