Down by the salley gardens

my love and I did meet;

She passed the salley gardens

with little snow-white feet.

She bid (请求) me take love easy,

as the leaves grow on the tree;

But I, being young and foolish(傻的),

with her would not agree.

In a field by the river

my love and I did stand,

And on my leaning shoulder(肩膀)

she put her snow-white ______.

She bid me take life easy,

as the grass grows on the weirs(河堰);

But I was young and foolish,

and now am full of tears(眼泪).

    As a volunteer teacher, I traveled a long way to a small village school in Longzhou, Guangxi. On my way there, I thought about the village, the school, and the children there. However, my heart sank when I arrived there. It wasn't what I expected. It didn't look like a school at all! The school had only three rooms, one for Grades 1, 2 and 3, and the other for Grades 4, 5 and 6. There was a third one for me.

    The children welcomed me warmly on my first day. They asked me a lot of questions, and I told them stories about myself and my life in Beijing. The next day, I gave them a test to find out their level（水平）. To my surprise, though the test was very easy, over half of the students couldn't pass it. I knew they needed me.

    I was busy preparing lessons, reading test papers every night. I enjoyed teaching these lovely and hard-working children, and I could see that they were making progress with my help. I have also learned a lot from them. I understand their lives better, and we are now good friends.

    I have worked in Longzhou for a year now. I'm happy, and the experience has been very useful for me. I love the small village and the children. In fact, I would like to continue working here.

    Gordon stands in the hallway(走廊). No one is there. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} It's 8: 10 a. m. He is late for class. He has to go to the music room, but he doesn't know where it is.

    He knows the music room isn't on the first floor. His classroom is on the first floor. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} He knows he has to walk quickly. The teacher will be worried(担心的).

    Gordon goes to the second floor and he turns(转弯) to the right. He goes down the hallway. On the left, he sees a door. "It may be the music room," he thinks. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} A young teacher is in it. Gordon asks the teacher, "Sorry, I'm new here. Do you know where the music room is?"

    "Sure," the teacher says. "It's on the third floor. Go upstairs and turn left. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} That is the music room. "

    Gordon thanks her and goes upstairs. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} "There you are!" Mr. Lewis says. "Your music teacher Mrs. Green asks me to find you." Gordon says, "I find you first!"

When the bell rang and the exam ended, I went out of the classroom, feeling down and disappointed. After all, it was my {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (three) time to fail the exam. The sky was covered with dark clouds and the wind was blowing hard, which made me even {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (sad).

On the way home, I{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (keep) my eyes on the ground. As soon as I entered my home, my mom came to ask me about the exam with great expectation. However, I just walked toward my bedroom {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a word. Lying in bed, I couldn't stop thinking that I would {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (punish) by Mom and began to cry.

Mom must have known what happened to me, as she gently opened the door and asked me {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (go) to the park. She pointed to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} flower, which was suffering(遭受) from a large storm.

Its {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (leaf) and petals(花瓣) were shaking hard as if it would be broken in-to pieces. But to my surprise, the small flower was still standing strong, smiling against the wind and rain.

I finally understood. Although there were many failures and difficulties, we always have to go on and fight {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (brave). After the storm, we'll see the brightest rainbow. That flower, which blooms(盛放) in my heart. is the most beautiful one {#blank#}10{#/blank#} I've ever seen.

Both Mr and Mrs Liu are teachers at a high school in Hangzhou. They are always so 1  that they almost have no chance to travel. National Day is coming. They  2  to take their children to Beijing. But3 ? By car, by high- speed (高速的) train or by plane?

Liu Wei is Liu Fang's brother and he is five years younger than her. "I have no  13 which is the best way to Beijing. I just hope to 14  Beijing Daxing Airport. I saw it on TV. It is really beautiful and large," Liu Wei says. 

"I also want to visit the airport,15  it is the most expensive," his sister says. 

Finally, they decide to take a plane to Beijing. 

 Festivals mean more work for some people. Let me tell you {#blank#}1{#/blank#} story about a deliveryman(外卖员) . His name is Li Lei, even {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the National Day, when most of us are having fun, Li Lei is on duty. His job is to deliver packages (包裹) to {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(people) homes. The festival means he needs {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (do) more work. Everyday, Li Lei rides his bike from one place to another, no matter(不论) how hot or cold it is. He {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (spend) little time with his family during the festival, but he knows his work is important. Because of him, people get the things they need on time. His hard work makes our festivals even better.
