It was a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  day during the summer holiday. My mother and I got on the bus to my grandma's village. It was {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  dry that I was really thirsty. I began to think of the sweet watermelons and other {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  in Grandma's house. I could hardly wait to arrive there.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  took us two hours to get there . Grandma brought out a big watermelon and cut it. It was nice to eat the watermelon {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  such a hot day.

    Rock music began in the United States in the 1950s. It first became {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in small clubs and on the radio. Later, with the introduction of rock music programs, people could watch their {#blank#}2{#/blank#} bands on TV.

    Rock music has {#blank#}3{#/blank#} many music styles since it was born. And it has been influenced by {#blank#}4{#/blank#} cultures and musical traditions. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} changes in rock music have often taken place in regional centers, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} as New York City, Kingston and Liverpool, the influence of rock music is now felt {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the world.

    Some people may not like rock music for its {#blank#}8{#/blank#}, fast beats or naughty(粗俗的) lyrics. But {#blank#}9{#/blank#} of rock music lovers all over the world are crazy about it because they think this kind of music can {#blank#}10{#/blank#} their feelings completely.

    One of the most {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ['beɪsɪk] human needs is a home. A home is a safe place. While most people around the world {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (valuable) their homes, there are many people in every country who are homeless.

Some people are homeless for a short {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ['pɪəriəd] of time because they are moving from one place to another, and other people are not able to find a home. They must live on the streets or in a shelter.

There are many causes of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (homeless). Sometimes people cannot keep a home because they do not earn enough money, or because they do not have a job. Sometimes people are homeless because they have a problem {#blank#}5{#/blank#} drugs or because they have a mental illness. No one is ever homeless {#blank#}6{#/blank#}purpose.

{#blank#}7{#/blank#} [wɒt'evə(r)] the cause of homelessness is, the effects are the same. Homeless people must work very hard to live. They cannot raise their children. Sometimes they must steal food just {#blank#}8{#/blank#} eat. The government in every country has worked for many years to {#blank#}9{#/blank#} [help] the homeless but more needs to be done. We must think of the homeless as people, not just as problems.

     Time passes swiftly and never r{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Our three years of Junior high school life will come to an e{#blank#}2{#/blank#} We'll have to say goodbye to each other—to our best friends and to our beloved teachers. I have all the happy and sad m{#blank#}3{#/blank#} of the three years in my heart.

    Three years ago, three boys came to a school from different places. They were my best friends and I. At that time, we were young and shy of each other. H{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, as time went by, we became closer and closer. We studied hard together, played sports together and hung out with each other. When we failed exams, we e{#blank#}5{#/blank#} each other. We faced challenges together, and solved problems together. We s{#blank#}6{#/blank#} happiness and sadness, and grew up together.

    Now, as best friends, we have to face the future separately (分离). Nothing can c{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the fact. I believe that, a{#blank#}8{#/blank#} we may end up in different high schools, our friendship will last.

On Saturday I'm usually at home. I'm usually with my dogs. My family has two dogs. One is Millie. She is very{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Sure, I like being with her. The other one is Dave. He looks{#blank#}3{#/blank#}but I do like it. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}do I like this scary dog? {#blank#}5{#/blank#}he can help me do lots of things. He can help me look after my home. And he can.
