    Coffee has become the most popular American drink. Today people in the United States drink more coffee than（比）people in any of the other countries. People drink coffee at breakfast, at lunch, at dinner, and between meals. They drink hot coffee or coffee with ice in it. They drink it at work and at home. They eat coffee ice-cream and coffee candy（糖果）. Coffee is black and very strong. Different people like to drink it in different ways. Some people like coffee with cream or sugar in it. Other people like coffee with both cream and sugar in it. In all ways it is served（提供服务）. Coffee has become an international（国际的）drink.

    Did you know that about 55% of communication is unspoken, so in fact, our bodies are actually saying more than our words. I find that the key to a successful conversation in any language is to speak to people not only in their spoken language but also with the body language they know best.

    Britain, along with much of Northern Europe, has a non-touch culture, so personal space is very important. In a formal(正式的) situation, we would usually greet each other with a handshake. Informally, but not so often, my British friends and I would greet with a hug. Hardly ever would we greet with a kiss on the cheek, let alone a hug and two kisses on the cheek!

    Here in the south of Italy, and in many different parts of the world, both men and women greet with two kisses on the cheek, use a lot of hand signs and often touch each other. In other words, little personal space is left between people when communicating.

    At university, I have learnt to successfully communicate in spoken Italian. And since I moved to live with the local people, I have also started to pick up their body language. Sometimes, I find myself not knowing what hand signs to use when expressing myself. However, what I know for sure is that I would miss the opportunity to fully put myself in the Italian culture if I keep my personal space unbroken.

    Here are 5 body language tips in Italy;

   ● Use different signs; head, arms and hands.

   ● Use facial expressions. Always smile at people! It is said that smiling is the most powerful unspoken way to communicate friendliness.

   ● Use eye contact, because "the eyes are the window to the soul."

   ● Don't worry about personal space. Italians are a people who like to use the sense of touch, so moving away or keeping your distance may be considered as being unfriendly.

   ● Touch. When meeting and leaving, always shake hands.

    Although people everywhere seem to enjoy drinking coffee, they don't all have the same coffee culture. In Europe, for example, coffee shops are common places for people to meet friends and to talk while they drink coffee. On the other hand, places like this were not as common in North America in the past. Instead, people in North America liked to drink coffee in their homes with friends. The coffee culture in the USA changed when Starbucks (星巴克) coffee shops spread across the country.

    The first Starbucks coffee shop opened in 1971 in downtown Seattle, Washington, in the USA. It was a small coffee shop that cooked its own coffee beans. The coffee shop's business did well, and by 1981 there were three Starbucks stores in Seattle.

    Things really began to change for the company in 1981. That year, Howard Schultz met the three men who ran Starbucks. Schultz worked in New York for a company that made kitchen equipment. He noticed that Starbucks ordered a large number of special coffee makers, which caused his great interest. Schultz went to Seattle to see what Starbucks did. In 1982, the original Starbucks owners hired Schultz as the company's head of marketing (市场营销).

    In 1983, Schultz traveled to Italy. The special environment of the espresso (浓咖啡) bars there caught his eyes. Back in the USA, Schultz created an environment for Starbucks coffee shops that was comfortable and casual, and customers everywhere seemed to like it. Starbucks began opening more stores across the USA. Then the company opened coffee shops in other countries as well. Today, there are more than 16,000 Starbucks coffee shops all over the world.

    However, that does not mean Starbucks has not had problems. In fact, many Starbucks stores have closed over the past few years. On the one hand, this is because there were too many coffee shops competing for business in one small area. On the other hand, stores in some countries closed because the coffee culture there did not match with the "feel the same everywhere" environment offered by Starbucks.

    Japanese kids always like flying kites in holidays. And every year, they can enjoy a Kite Festival.

    When the festival is coming ,you can see fish-shaped(鱼形的) flags all over Japan. Paper or cloth kites, or banners(横幅), are hung outside boys' homes. Seeing the fish makes people feel happy .It looks like they are swimming in the sky. The black fish represents the father, the red for the mother, the smaller blue ones for the sons. Japanese people believe the fish is an important symbol. They think it is strong and brave .In front of some homes there will be a fish for each son. The largest fish will be for the oldest son. On this day, many kids like to fly kites, especially fish-kites.
