Tony Wheeler was born to travel. His father worked for an airline. For the first 16 years of his life, Wheeler and his family lived in many counties.

    In the early 1970s, Tony met a young woman named Maureen. Soon they got married. Before getting jobs, Tony and Maureen wanted to travel. They took a year-long trip from England, through Asia, to Australia. On the trip, they visited places like Iran, India and so on.

    When Tony and Maureen arrived in Australia, people asked many questions about their trip. To answer these questions, Wheeler wrote a book called Across Asia on the Cheap. The book told people about different countries weather, customs, and places to see. But unlike other travel books of that time, Tony Wheeler's book also talked about places most tourists didn't go. He also wrote about special things to see and to do. The book was very popular.

    Tony and Maureen started a company called Lonely Planet. They went on traveling. They wrote books for each place they visited. Today, 800 people work for Lonely Planet. The company has over 650 books. Tony Wheeler, the great traveler, still writes about travels to many places and will bring us more surprises.

When is your favorite time? Lily goes to school from Monday to Friday. And lunchtime isher favorite time. 

Lily loves the school lunch. Some students don't like the school lunch, because they thinkit's not good. They bring(带来) their lunch to school. Their mothers make(做) hamburgers orsalad for them for lunch. Some students bring leftovers(剩饭菜) for lunch. But Lily doesn't!She thinks the school lunch is good. Her lunch is only $1.35. She can buy good and healthyfood. She has lunch with her friends. Boys can have lunch with girls. They like to talk about(谈论) their favorite subjects, their favorite teachers and their favorite days. After lunch, they liketo play games.

At school, Lily likes lunchtime. For Lily, her school days are very happy. 

On Jayne's {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（twelve） birthday, she called to tell me that she would come to visit me. This morning, she kept sending me {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（message） on her way to our house in Virginia, the US. 

"Grandma, can you put some snow in the fridge? That way, I can feel snow {#blank#}3{#/blank#} I get there, "she wrote. In the past 12 years, Jayne had lived with her parents in the south of Georgia, the US, so she had never seen snow before. 

"Yes, I will, " I wrote. "There is still some snow on the ground in the yard. " And I sent her a few photos of it. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, the weather report brought me bad news. It said. the weather would be sunny at noon. This made me {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（feel） worried. 

In the afternoon, they{#blank#}6{#/blank#}（final） arrived. Jayne got out of the car first. She didn't even have time to hug us. She ran into the yard and put {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（she） hands in the snow. She looked so excited. It was great that the sun didn't come out that day. 

"Grandma, the weather is so cold, but I enjoy playing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} snow, " Jayne said. Then she started to build a snowman. After working for a while, a lovely snowman {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（finish）. At last, she put her hat on its head. It looked nicer and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（smart）. She kept playing outside until her hands got wet and cold. 

Watching her playing in the snow made me realize that small things can also make us happy. 

Sam, a foreign student, often shares his experiences of Chinese culture on his vlog.

In one video, for example, Sam shared how he had learned the Chinese word "dongxi", he translated each part separately into "east west". And he introduced how "dongxi" came to mean "things". He told people that all marketplaces in ancient Chinese cities were set up along a single road that ran from east to west. So when you would say "qu mai dongxi", you'd be saying, "I'm going to buy things."

He posted some other videos of reading Chinese poems and performing Kungfu in Chinese traditional custom. They were quite welcomed by more than 40,000 followers.

"Many of my followers are learning Chinese", Sam said. "But sadly, they know little about Chinese culture and the country." Like many foreigners, Sam once believed that all Chinese could perform Kungfu, flying onto roofs and walking over walls. He thought the country was not developed. But after he got a scholarship to study in China in 2019, his view about China changed. "China has entered a new period, but many people's impressions of China are still stuck in the 1970s," Sam said. "That's why I started to shoot vlogs to share Chinese culture in 2019."

Until now, Sam has posted more than 40 Chinese culture vlogs online. Though shooting these vlogs is not easy and takes lots of time, the young man feels proud. Sam said that he wanted to continue bridging the differences between two cultures. "This goal may not be achieved easily, but I will spare no efforts to do my part."

In 1742,a German mathematician( 数 学 家 )called Goldbach came up with {#blank#}1{#/blank#}new Maths problem.It was the famous/ Goldbach Conjecture(哥德巴赫 猜想).However,he himself couldn't solve it.Many other mathematicians tried, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}they all failed.

More than 200 years later,a Chinese mathematician named Chen Jingrun)found a way to partly solve the problem.The world was {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(excite)about it. How could Chen succeed? {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (he)talent was one reason,of course.But more{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (important),it was because Chen loved Maths very much.He spent all his life{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (solve)Maths  problems.Chen often studied very late at night.In order not to bother(打扰)others,he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (move)into a small room,which was only 6 square metres.There was no table or chair in it!Chen had to work on his bed,and all he had was a pen.With that pen,he wrote over 200{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(page)about the Goldbach Conjecture.Finally,the problem was solved to a certain degree, helping proceed(推进)with the work.

Once,an American university invited Chen{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(pay)a visit to it. During the four months,he stayed all the time in the university and he didn't travel anywhere.To save time,he ate noodles for each meal.Throughout his life,the only thing Chen cared about was Maths.Thanks to his perseverance and dill diligence,Chen progressed rapidly in Maths researches and his love{#blank#}10{#/blank#} Maths was finally rewarded:
