    Annie is a neighbor's daughter. When her birthday month came around I found out she felt blue and lonely.

    Her family is quite small and kind of poor so there wouldn't be any birthday visitors. I wanted to send her a card and maybe a small gift to make her happy.

    I told some of my friends I would like to have a birthday party for the girl. I asked them for help. Then I bought some small presents, a cake and something else.

    When the day came, my friends and I went to her house. When she got home after school, we gave the presents to her and wished her a happy birthday.

    It was so easy to do something helpful. My friends helped take the party. They still laugh and talk about it. And Annie tells me she likes the birthday very much and she can still remember it!

    Ray Charles，a black singer and pianist of the USA．He had won 12 Grammy Awards （格莱美奖） and performed at 10，000 concerts around the world．Many musicians called him simply"the Genius"（天才）．

    Ray Charles was born into a poor family，without a father．When he was 5 years old，his younger brother died. And around the same time，Charles started to lose his sight．By the age of 7 he was completely blind．He had already been learning the piano for a year. And when he went blind，his mother knew this would be the only way he would make any money in the future．All his life，Charles remembered her saying："Do it right，or don't do it at all．"

    Later he went to a school for blind and deaf children．There the teachers also encouraged him to study music．Sadly，while he was still at school，his mother died．He left school and in the early 1950s Charles organized a group of players．He sang，played the piano and wrote music．

    He made many classical CDs with famous artists such as Elton John and the Beatles．

    In 2003 a film of his life Ray was made．The part of Charles was played by a younger actor and musician called Jamie Foxx．The film director brought Foxx to meet Charles．After they had been playing together for two hours，Charles，then aged 73，jumped up and said："He's the one…he can do it．"A year later Charles died aged 74．The film of his life has been as popular as his songs and means that the memory of Charles' music will live on．

    A 50-year-old American officer(官员)came back to his school. The teacher asked him to give a talk to the small boys and girls there. The talk was about the love of their great country. All the little ones were sitting in a large meeting-room. The old officer went up and began speaking. He said, "Boys and girls, I studied in the school forty years ago. When l was your age, we were not as happy as you are today. Think about it and answer me, why are you so happy now?"

    No sound came from the children. The old marl waited for a long time. Then a short boy in the front put up his small dirty hand. "Good boy! Please answer me, dear, "said the officer.

    With a big smile on his face, the boy stood up and said. "If you speak long enough, we won't have math and biology(生物)lessons this morning."

36-­year­-old California Dad Sholom Solomon is a funny photo lover. And he just might be taking the lead as this year's most awesome dad. Recently Solomon and his daughter have spent their time taking lots of funny and amazing photos while wearing creative clothes. 

Solomon said，"I have always taken funny pictures even before Zoe was born. When she came along I wanted to include her so that one day she can look back at funny memories with her dad. "

In fact，Solomon's wife Carli took all these new photos. One photo shows Zoe was dressed up as a flower while her dad was watering flowers beside her. Another photo shows Solomon dressed in firefighter gear (装备)．

"We are always trying to find some creative clothes to take funny photos. It has become a family's favorite experience now，" Solomon smiled and said. 

So many fans love these cute photos. Solomon has nearly 20，000 followers on the Internet，and that number is quickly climbing. "Everyone seems to be connected with the love of the father and the daughter. The response (反应) has been extremely positive，" Solomon said with pride.

⑤"You do not have to make a lot of money to be happy, " Cameron says. A business can be big or small. No one is too old to have a business. And, no one is too young!
