Learn to rise again

    It is not always easy to discover yourself.From a(/an)1age, I had a strong sense of who I wouldbecome—but an accident changed everything.

    To me, skating was more2thananything else in the world. Nothing else filled my heart with so much3.I spent 24 hours a week developing my skills. I had no social life or interestsother than4.But I was rewarded (回报) with first place medals in nearly every competition.

   5,during one competition, I fell and was badly injured. The doctor told me that Icouldn't skate any more. The pain in my back was6tobear (忍受) and even basic daily tasks became difficult.

    My passion (激情) had been7.I lost heart and had no idea what I would become. After eight months of suffering,something had to8. Instead of sitting around and wasting mydays, I began to work with local community service projects. By volunteering asa swimming teacher and summer reading assistant (助教) for kids, I gotan idea of whom I wanted to become. After a few months, I9anew interest. Little by little, I stepped out of the shadow and rebuilt my confidence.

    Sometimes, challenges in life will get in theway. We can choose to stay behind or try to get past these challenges.  My10was a challenge that failedto stop me from reaching success. Today, I'm a very confident and optimistic (乐观的) person.

Mingming is a lovely boy. He likes animals very much. His parents take him to Wuhan Zoo{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Sunday. There they can m{#blank#}2{#/blank#} many animals. And family outing is great f{#blank#}3{#/blank#} for them. They like different kinds of animals. Mingming {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( think) monkeys are clever and he likes them best. His father likes tigers best. His mother's favourite animals are pandas. She thinks the black- and- white animals {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( be) very kind and cute. They also s{#blank#}6{#/blank#} penguins, giraffes, elephants and so on. And they take many {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( photo) there. It's r{#blank#}8{#/blank#} for them to do so.

At the end of the d{#blank#}9{#/blank#}, Mingming's parents even buy some souvenirs (纪念品) for{#blank#}10{#/blank#}( he). All of them are very happy in the zoo. Mingming really wants to visit the zoo again.

Today is July 21. Most people are enjoying their weekend now. John is watching a magic show at the Capital Stadium with his parents and a friend from Australia. 

The girl is Megan, she is staying at John's for her holiday now. Her parents and brother Andy are now visiting the zoo. Their father is taking photos of many animals, like elephants, pandas, zebras and tigers. But Andy likes monkeys most and he is now watching them jumping and playing. 

Andy's cousin Julia is at her friend's birthday party. There she meets Lily, Daming, Joy and Lingling. They are having a happy talk and drinking some juice. Julia's grandparents are having a Taijiquan class, while her mother is shopping for presents. Julia's family is going back home to the Unite States next Thursday, so her father is booking plane ticket on the Internet. 

Jane is from America. She is in China with her parents. Now she is writing an e- mail to her1 back home.

Shailyn Ryan is a 9- year- old girl from Massachusetts. That day, during lunch in the school dining hall, she noticed 1 unexpected happening. Her friend Keira held a hand to her own throw without a word. Her face rapidly turned red, then blue. Though Keira was unable to 2 , Shailyn knew she was choking(噎住).

 Immediately, Shailyn jumped from her seat and stood behind Keira. She pushed Keira a bit forward, put her arms 3 Keira's waist (腰部), then pressed as hard as she could.

 It wasn't long before a hot dog piece popped (突然弹出) up from Keira's throat. Thanks to her 4 action, Keira was free to breathe again.

"I didn't really think about it—I just did it," said Shailyn."I wasn't 5 at all, and I knew that I had to do something fast, so I did." And she did it just right.

 The most 6 part of the story is that Shailyn knew the Heimlich maneuver  (海姆立克操作法) just for less than 24 hours. Only the night before, she attended a" Home Alone" kids 7 class. At the class, she and several other children learnt basic first aid and practised 8 to do the Heimlich maneuver on each other. Clearly, Shailyn was a really fast 9 ! She was able to take what she'd learnt the night before and 10 it in real life.

A few days later, Shailyn was given an award by the school master Jill Barnhardt.  " We' re sure to 11 Shailyn for her actions in such situation," Barnhardt said." Shailyn took actions 12 . Her response to her friend's suffering was effective. She is simply a 13 ."

 Shailyn was also excited to get a personal tour of a hospital 14 she dreamed of becoming a doctor.‘I want to 15 more people,'' she said." That would be cool to work in a hospital."

Everyone wants to have a strong body . Do you have a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} lifestyle? I think I do. 

I have many good eating and living habits. I prefer to eat fruit and vegetables. The doctor says everyone {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to get enough nutrition(营养 ). And I avoid smoking and drinking hot or cold water. I think they may {#blank#}3{#/blank#} my body. In addition, I try to sleep eight hours every day. That makes me get more {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the next day. And I can study better and get better marks. What's more, I do some {#blank#}5{#/blank#} exercise every day. It says that if people run every day, they will have stronger hearts than others. So I run for about thirty minutes every morning.
