People may have many different kinds of hobbies during their lifetime. When we are very young, we spend most of our time playing with toy trucks. We may enjoy playing a sandbox or building with wooden blocks(木块). When we get older, we start our first real hobbies. Some kids go out for a sport like football or skating. These new interests can be quite time-consuming and most children spend a lot of time on them. Some children might get interested in less active activities like reading, painting, or stamp collecting. Others might enjoy playing an instrument like the piano or the flute(笛子).

As we get older, our hobbies might change or go on. Some people might spend their whole lives on stamp collecting. Other people might change their interests every year depending on fashions. Some people are lucky that they have found jobs that are similar to their hobbies, like a person who loves teaching and becomes a teacher.

10th September

Our Art teacher is not young. He has black hair, two big black eyes, a small nose and a big mouth. Look, he is wearing a white jacket, a blue hat, brown trousers and a pair of old shoes. He's very funny and nice. We all like him.

21st September

I have many friends. Are they my pets (宠物)? No. Are they my classmates? No. Let me tell you. They are my favourite books. I like reading science books and physics books. They help me know how to be a clever boy. I have much fun when I read them.

I never think that I can make a movie by myself one day. And a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（机会） came last summer. I just finished my short film Summer. I took many film-making lessons in the college, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（尤其） short film-making ones.

I was Dawn in the movie. He couldn't see anything but he never gave up the hope of living. In the story, Dawn worked hard with his friend Annie. I had to act {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（没有） closing my eyes. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（然而）, I could never do that at the beginning. So I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（练习） over and over again at night. At last, I got pretty good at it!

We all worked hard to make the movie. Our teacher was very {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（满意的）. I still remembered the act of showing a traffic {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（事故）. These actresses had to fall to the ground for many times. It was about the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（第二十） time that they finally got right. It was very hot and dry, but we never gave up.

We all cried when we saw it at New Times Cinema. I thought it was {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（令人激动的）moment in my life. I will never {#blank#}10{#/blank#} （忘记） this summer.

 Wu Mingzhu is a 94-year-old expert at growing melons(瓜), and she recently returned to Turpan, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where she worked for many years. The local people welcomed her with warm smiles and cheers.

 Wu was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and she graduated(毕业) from Southwest University in 1953. Two years later, she decided to help farmers in Xinjiang grow melons, even though the working conditions were really difficult back then.

 She spent three years visiting more than 300 farms to learn about the best ways to grow melons. In 1973, she opened a special center in Hainan Province to improve melon breeding(培育). Thanks to Wu and her team, about 80 percent of the watermelons and sweet melons we eat today come from their hard work over more than 60 years!

 Even though Wu has some trouble remembering her family members because of her illness, she feels happy whenever someone mentions"melon". It reminds her of all the fun and important work she did with melons during her whole life.

When we were young, people always liked to question us about what kind of job we wanted to have. And some school students said they wanted to be a scientist, a computer programmer, or a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(飞行员). 

To be honest, I didn't know what I wanted to be when I was a middle school student. My mother wanted me to be a pianist, but I didn't take it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(严肃地) because I couldn't {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(忍受)practicing it every day. My father wanted me to be an engineer like him, but I thought it was {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(毫无意义的). 

Through some years, I went to college to go on my {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(教育). I kept everything in all my {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (日记). At the start of the new term, I got a part-time job at the school radio station. I {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(期待) to discuss the school life with other students and make many friends there. 

Without this working experience, I could never know what I really wanted. 

Four years later, I got a full-time job at our local radio station. I hoped that I could {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(改善)other people's life. So I made a {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(承诺) to myself that I would work hard on it and they just did what I advised. My program was quite {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(成功的) and I had lots of fans. I enjoy my job and my life now.
