Listening to songs is a great way to learn English. Here are a few reasons.

    My name is Alice. I am 14 years old. I have good eating habits(饮食习惯).

    For breakfast, I have two eggs and some bread. I don't like milk, but I have some milk too. Because milk is healthy. For lunch, I have rice with meat and vegetables. Chicken is my favourite meat. Carrots are my favourite vegetable. They are very healthy. I have vegetables and noodles for dinner. After dinner, I eat some fruit. Bananas and apples are my favourite fruit. What food don't I like? Hamburgers! They aren't healthy.

    Good eating habits help me to be healthy.

    A traveler in South Africa once set out on a long journey. When crossing a wide plain(平原), far from home, he saw a lion at a distance. The lion saw him at the same time, and followed him slowly.

    When the traveler walked fast, the lion walked fast! When he stopped, the lion stopped! The man realized that the lion meant to follow him until the dark, and then attack(攻击) him.

    He was not able to run away from the lion because the lion ran faster than him. So he thought of a plan to fool it.

    He came to a large rock. He hid behind the rock, where the lion could not see him. Then taking a stick which he could find there, he put his coat and his hat on it, in order to make them look like a man. He then placed the stick with the coat and the hat standing in the ground above the rock. He then left quietly.

    The lion stopped and watched the coat and the hat, at a distance. At nightfall, it jumped onto the coat and the hat to try to kill the man.

    But the traveler was already far away. Before long, he reached his own home.

    On 19th September 1783, Pilatre De Rozier, a scientist, sent the first hot air balloon. The passengers were three animals and the balloon stayed in the air for about 15 minutes before hitting back to the ground.

    The first manned(载人的) flight was about 2 months later, with a balloon made by 2 French brothers. The balloon flew for a period of 20 minutes.

    Sailing through the sky in the balloon, high above buildings and trees, you can't feel or hear the wind because you're traveling in the same direction and at the same speed as it is.

    A hot air balloon has three main parts: the balloon, called an envelope; a basket, where passengers ride; and a burner system, which supplies the hot air.

    Most balloon envelopes are made of strong, lightweight nylon(尼龙). They are different in size and shape, but they have to be really, really big to lift even one person. Most weigh more than an adult man.

    The basket is usually made of wicker(柳条), which is strong but not too hard. It needs to bend a bit for a soft landing, just like a good jumper bends her legs instead of keeping them straight when she lands.

    The hot air balloon works on the theory that hot air rises faster than cooler air. When the burner system is turned on, it makes a noisy sound, but once the balloon is flying, the burner can be turned off. The air in the envelope will then cool, and the balloon will slowly go down unless the pilot starts the burner system again.

    To control a hot air balloon, a pilot adds hot air to it to go up or lets the air out to go down until he finds a wind blowing in the direction he wants to fly. But no matter which way the wind blows, the passengers have an amazing bird's-eye view of the world.

    The aim of students who come to school is to study. But t0 study requires a right way, or you waste either the time or the money. The following are the ways of studying.

    The best time for reading is morning, because in the morning, the air is fresh and the mind is clear. For that reason, we can get good result.

    In studying we must have patience. If we have not known a text well, we must read it again. We should not read the next one until we have learned the first one.

    When we are studying, we must put our hearts into the book, or we can get nothing from the book while we are reading.

    We must always ask "whys". If it is not well understood, write it down and ask our teachers or our parents, or friends. In any possible way, we must know it completely and what we've learned can be used well and made better.

    Though there are many ways for studying, yet the above mentioned will be quite enough if we can keep them in heart and do so.

    Saving water is an important part of going green. As water becomes less and is polluted (污染的) more, conservation (保护) becomes more and more important. If people keep wasting water, more water needs to be treated and cleaned. This process (过程) needs quite a lot of money.

    As it is said above, cutting down on water usage is one of the most important things you can do for your local environment. That is why more green families are going blue by conserving and harvesting water.

    It may seem like a big concept (概念), but going blue starts with small changes. Something as simple as turning off the tap when you brush your teeth can save a lot of water. Wash your fruits and vegetables in a bowl instead of under a tap to save even more. Make sure that the taps are fully turned off every time you step away.

    Another way of reducing water usage is reducing your dependence on the main water supply. Rainwater harvesting can meet a lot of your home's water needs. Collecting rainwater is a great way to keep your garden green without running the sprinkler (洒水器).
