Do you ever watch old movies? Maybe you will see one with Carole Lombard. She was a famous 1 in the 1930s. She died when she was only 34. In her 2 life she made 70 movies!

    Lombard's real name was Jane Alice Peters. In 1921, she was playing baseball in the 3 near her home. A movie director 4 her and decided to put her in a movie. She was only 13 at the time. The movie was one of the last silent movies. She acted so well that she 5 the hearts of some people. At 16, she left school to act.

    In 1925, she had an agreement with a 6 studio, 20^th Century Fox. The studio gave 7 a new name, and she acted in several films. Then, at age 18, she was in a bad car accident. The accident left scars (伤疤) on her face. The studio broke the agreement, but she did not 8. She conitnued to act.

    It was Paramount Studio that made Lombard a 9. She made many movies for the studio. She also married two of their stars. Lombard was married to actor William Powell for only 23 months, 10 seven years later, she married the great love of her life, actor Clark Gable. It was a great Hollywood love story.

Hang Son Doong in Vietnam(越南) is known as the world's largest natural cave. Last May, I went there with my friends. 

On the first day, we {#blank#}1{#/blank#} at the cave early in the morning. In the cave, we saw many rocks. Some of them were millions of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} old. There was also a natural sandbar(沙洲). It divided a green lake into {#blank#}3{#/blank#} parts. One side was warm and there were some fish swimming in it. However, the other side was very {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. 

We spent four days in the cave. Every {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, we were w oken up by the sound of birds singing. The sunlight went through the mouth of the cave. It made the lake and rocks sparkle(闪闪发光). The nights in the cave were so {#blank#}6{#/blank#} that the sound of water dropping could be heard. When I looked out of the cave, I could see a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} full of stars. 

On our last day, we were ready to leave the cave. We used the rope system to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} up a  90- meter- high wall. This was the most exciting part of the trip. When I got out of the cave {#blank#}9{#/blank#}, I felt very proud. 

During the trip, I threw {#blank#}10{#/blank#} into the arms of nature and enjoyed the beauty of the place. What a fantastic trip!

 One night in July at an all-girls summer camp, the students sat around a fire and talked with each other. Their teacher asked if any of the girls wanted to1 something. It could be anything that happened that day and what they     2 it. One girl put up her hand. She said that another girl said something bad to her and it hurt her     3 . For that, she felt quite sad about it. The teacher went into the4 , and carried a tube of toothpaste(牙膏) when she walked out     5 the door. Then she held the tube     6 in the air so that every student could see7 . She squeezed(挤) a bit so some toothpaste came out. She then tried to put the toothpaste back in the tube, 8 she couldn't make it. It just made a mess(脏乱). She squeezed the tube even more, 9 more toothpaste and making even more of a mess. 10 of the toothpaste would go back into the tube. 

11 , the teacher then told the students, "This toothpaste is just like the12 you say. When you say something bad, it's13 to take it back. It only makes a mess. 14 before you speak and make sure something you say are15 before you let them out. We should always be careful with what we say. "

 Remember: something you say can be a soothing medicine or a sharp knife. 

Let me tell you something about my travel. At the moment, we're visiting Ayers Rock. During different p{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of the day, it changes its colours. Ayers Rock is a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(中心) of local Aboriginal culture. Some of their ancient stories describe the spirits that created the world. 

People may be {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(惊奇的) to find that Australians have a close r{#blank#}4{#/blank#} with the British. That's because many Australians have British {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (亲 戚 ). Like the English, Australians like ham and beef with lots of salad. They also grow grapes and other f{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. 

Australians are not I{#blank#}7{#/blank#}. They like doing all kinds of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (活 动 ). They often go horse {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (骑马) and very enjoy it. They also go to the beach for swimming and s {#blank#}10{#/blank#} or just lying in the sun. 

2nd March is National Old Stuff Day(旧物日) in the US. It is all about old stuff — things you used have been forgotten for ages in your home. You must have some old stuff around. And today is all about enjoying it and reusing(再次使用) it. Because what's better than finding something really great from days gone by?

It's so easy to forget things you have. If we don't use them every day, some things can be put away and stay there. And that's not just the things in your home — technology grows so quickly that new toys come out all the time, and new books keep coming out. In the age of new information, we can have so many things easily. Today is all about remembering the things we left behind. 

We've learnt to value what age can bring to things. Wines, for example, are more valuable and tastier as they grow older. It's certain that old things still have their uses, value or charm. People today will pay a lot of money for stamps, toys, video games, board games, books, coins, and clothes of yesterday. 

You can really get into the charm of old things by visiting a junk shop(旧货店). Another person's old stuff could be your new stuff! Or maybe now is a good day to clean up! Old stuff could become a great gift for someone else, or you could always send your old things to a charity(慈善机构). If you're free, you can turn your old clothes into new ones with just a little change. 

Today could be a good day to visit your elder families. You could ask your grandparents to tell you stories about family history, their childhood and their youth. Learn about what was going on in the world when they were growing up. 

Most of all, remember that today's new stuff will one day be old stuff.
