    He was born in Germany．His father was a singer and2Beethoven．When Beethoven was only four,his3asked him to learn different musical instruments(乐器).Beethoven loved music and he4very fast.He got high praise(赞扬）from Mozart ,the great musician at that time,5the age of seventeen.

    Donnie was a 2 student and never answered questions in class. He was afraid to make mistakes. He never finished his homework 3 he didn't want to make any mistakes. Nothing changed until Marry Anne, a teacher, came to our4 

    One morning, Marry Anne asked Donnie to 5 some questions. After a while Donnie was in tears because he made a mistake. Suddenly Marry Anne got a box full of erasers from the desk.

    "Look, Donnie," she said standing 6 him. "I've got something to show you." She took out the erasers, one at a time, and put them on the desk.

    "See these erasers, Donnie?" she continued (继续). "Do you know 7 the erasers become smaller and smaller? That's because we make mistakes. But we erase the mistakes and try again. That's what you must learn."

    "Here," she said, "I'll 8 one eraser on your desk, so you will remember that 9 may make mistakes."

    Donnie looked at Marry Anne and smiled.

    Donnie 10a lot from then on. He knew that everyone had the permission (许可) to make mistakes as long as you learned them and tried again.

Mary and Lisa are sisters. They like the same colour— blue. They like the same sports— swimming and basketball. They go to the same middle school. But they aren't in the same class. They like music and art. Art is their favourite subject. 

But Mary and Lisa have a big difference (不同之处) . Mary has many friends. They like to play with her. But Lisa doesn't have any friends. Their mum sees the difference. She says to Lisa, "My dear, your smile (微笑) is very beautiful. Why not smile often?" Lisa says OK and she tries smiling often. Children come to Lisa. They like her smile. They want to make friends with her. Now Lisa has many friends. She is very happy.

Do you like fishing? Have you ever put a fish back into the water after catching it? What made you decide to do this?

One day, two fishermen were fishing in a pond（池塘）. Both of them were looking forward to getting a big catch. The first fisherman caught a big fish in a few minutes. He was very happy. He put the fish in his box. He would cook it in the afternoon. Soon the second fisherman also caught a large fish. However, he threw it back into the pond. Later, he caught many more big fish, only to throw them back into the water again and again. 

The first fisherman was surprised. "Why are you throwing the fish back into the water? They are beautiful and big!" The second fisherman answered, " l know they are big, but I don't have a pan(锅)that is big enough to cook big fish! I'm looking for a small fish that fits my cooking pan.

The first fisherman was surprised by the answer. He told the second fisherman that he could just cut the big fish into small pieces to fit them into the small pan. 

Many of us are just like the second fisherman. We don't think carefully and this sometimes causes us to lose chances. 

 Last month we {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( ask) our students about their free time activities. Our questions were about exercise, use of the Internet and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( watch) TV. Here are the results. 

 We found that only fifteen percent {#blank#}3{#/blank#} our students exercise every day. Forty— five percent exercise four to six hours a week. Twenty percent exercise only one to three times a week. And twenty percent do not exercise at all. 

 We all know that many students often go online, but we were {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( surprise) that ninety percent of them use the Internet every day. The other ten percent use it at least three or four times a week. Most students use it for {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( funny) not for homework. 

 The answers {#blank#}6{#/blank#} our questions about watching TV were also interesting. Only two percent of the students watch TV one to three times a week. Thirteen percent watch TV {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( fourth) to six times a week. And eighty— five percent watch TV every day! Although many students like to watch sports, game shows are the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( many) popular. 

 It's good to relax by {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( use) the Internet or watching game shows, but we think the best way to relax is through exercise. It's healthy for the mind and the body. Exercise such as playing sports is fun, and you can spend time with your friends and family as you play together. And remember, " Old habits {#blank#}10{#/blank#}( death) hard. " So start exercising before it's too late. 

Media was a king , but he wasn't happy. "I wish for gold, " he said. "That makes me happy. " Ping! The king1 his wish. King Media picked up a stick(棍子). Ping!2 , the stick became gold. Media was 3 . Then his cup, dish and box all4 gold. King Media felt happy.
