Color is everywhere in lives. But what does color mean? Why are people more relaxed in green rooms? Why do people do their best in blue gyms? That's the magic of color!

    Scientists from the US did an experiment. They asked two people to go into two different rooms. One went into a room painted in pink, and the other went into a blue room. They had to stay in the rooms for one hour. But they had to guess the time, because they didn't have a watch or any other thing to see the time. In the end, the person in the pink room came out in about 40 to 50 minutes. The person in the blue room came out after 70 to 80 minutes.

    The results show that color can change people's feelings about time. Warm colors make people feel that time is going faster than cool colors.

Gasoline (汽油) prices are getting higher and higher. The prices make it hard for drivers to afford the fuel. One group held a special event to display（展示）new kinds of cars .The new cars are different and they can run on many different kinds of fuels.

Some of these cars are called hybrids(混合动力). They can run on different kinds of fuels. One kind of them runs on a special fuel cell which is filled with a gas called hydrogen.

      The fuel cell cars are also better in another way. They give off no emissions（排放物）. They are very clean, and don't give off bad fumes when they are running.

One man who makes fuel cell cars is excited about the hydrogen fuel cell technology. He says we will never run out of the sources of the fuel, but we may run out of the oil. Once we use oil up, it will take millions of years for more oil to form. Since gasoline is made from oil, that could be a problem for companies that make traditional cars, and for drives. However, it won't be a problem for cars that run on fuel cells.

      Buses that run on hydrogen fuel cell power are being tested on the road. They could become a common form of transportation in the near future

    E-waste is fast becoming a serious problem around the world. This report will examine this problem and provide some possible ways to solve it.

We live in a society that is producing and using electronics(电子产品) all the time. It is often cheaper to buy new products than to repair old ones. Also, through clever advertising, companies always encourage people to change their old TVs, mobile phones and computers for the latest models. E-waste is created when we throw away old ones. In the EU alone, about 8,700,000 tons of e-waste is produced each year. Sadly, just over 1,000,000 tons is recycled.

    Burying(填埋) e-waste or burning it cause serious problems for the environment. Electronics have dangerous things in them. These things can then get into the ground or pollute the air when they are burnt.

    In recent years,   ▲  . However, their plans are not always managed properly. Sometimes electronics are just sent to poor countries such as Ghana. Here they are often burnt in public areas, which is very bad for people's health. Setting up recycling centers is a good way to solve this problem. E-cycling centers could recycle the parts that can be reused and deal with the rest properly.

    Another way is to make producers responsible(负责任) for their used products. This means that producers must take back old products which are no longer wanted. They should then make sure they are properly recycled or reused.

    As for us, we should try to cut down on e-waste. Change electronics only when we have to. And don't buy a product just to have the latest model.

    E-waste is a serious problem in the modern world. Both producers and users must take actions and try to keep it to the smallest amount.

    China Science and Technology Museum was opened to the public in September 1988. But the second project was completed in May, 2000. Its main task is to spread knowledge of science and technology among the public.

    The activities of China Science and Technology Museum include popular science exhibitions, Astro­vision film shows, training education programmes and experiment exhibition programmes. The museum has an area of 40，000 square metres, of which 16, 000 square metres is for exhibition halls.

    The Astro­vision Theatre is one of the museum's major attractions and also one of the largest Astro­vision theatres in the world. It makes visitors feel they are in actual events rather than see a film. Many great science activities are often held at the museum, and the museum wants to be an important window to the world.

    Do animals have a culture? What do we mean by "culture?" Lately social scientists have begun to ask if culture is found just in humans, or if some animals have a culture too. When we speak of culture, we mean a way of life a group of people have in common. Culture includes the beliefs and attitudes we learn. It is the patterns of behavior that help people to live together. It is also the patterns of behavior that make one group of people different from another group.

    Our culture lets us make up for having lost out strength, claws, long teeth, and other defenses. Instead we use tools, cooperate with one another, and communicate with language. But these aspects of human behavior, or "culture," can also be found in the lives of certain animals. Animals can make tools, for example. We used to think that the ability to use tools was the dividing line between human beings and other animals. Lately, however, we have found that this is not the case. Chimpanzees(非洲小猩猩) can not only use tools but actually make tools themselves. Animals can also share knowledge with each other and use their own language to communicate. So it may be important for us to know that the line dividing us from animals is not as clear as we used to think.
