Elephants are big，but Teensy was the smallest of them.Teensy tried everything she could think of to help herself grow.She put her legs out straight.She ate a lot.However，nothing seemed to 1.

    One day Teensy went with the elephants to have lunch.They stopped in front of some trees and found their favourite green leaves.Teensy raised her nose and tried again and again.but  she couldn't 2the branches.Not even the low ones!

    At the end of the day，Teensy was with the rest of the elephants watching the 3.But Teensy couldn't see very much."Excuse me，"said Teensy politely，"I'd like to see more than your knees，if you please."But the elephants didn't hear little Teensy.They were too 4 enjoying the sunset.Teensy sat down and waited 5for them to finish admiring the sunset.She knew she was too little to walk away by herself，so she sat and6 what the sunset must look like."Oh，I guess it is too pretty for words!"she sighed.Teensy was very sad."Oh，woe is me."she said.Suddenly，Teensy heard a tiny voice."What is woe？"the voice said.Teensy looked down and saw a mouse."Woe means 7"said Teensy.She told the mouse about seeing only elephant 8 instead of the sunset.

    "I'm too little，"she said.

    "Why？You're not little at all，"said the mouse.

    "Do you think so？"replied Teensy，"I'm sorry you're so small.I know how it feels.""Don't be sorry，"said the mouse."I like being small!I can always fit into corners.

    "Wow，"said Teensy，"so being9CAN be good."

    "You're right.Little or big，you should always be10 of who you are."said the mouse.

I'm David. When I was 13, my parents decided that I should go to England to improve my English. I had never been to other countries before, so I felt a little worried. My parents prepared everything for my journey. My plane was due(预定) to leave at 9:30 am and arrive in two hours. I phoned the English family who I would stay with and they told me they would wait for me at the airport.

Unluckily my plane to London was delayed(推迟). I tried to phone the English family again but I couldn't speak to them because they had already left home for the airport.

When I arrived in London, it was already 1:30 pm. I went to get my luggage(行李) but I couldn't find it. I became very worried. Luckily, the airport workers were very helpful and efficient. I didn't wait long — they found it 10 minutes later.

My English family were quite kind. I learned a lot of English because I spent most of the days talking in English. I played computer games with the little boy in my English family. I also taught him how to play chess. Sometimes I told him stories I learned from my family.

I missed my family during my stay in London, but I also felt sad when my stay came to an end. My English family held a party for me. I enjoyed it very much. I'll never forget that summer in London! It is one of the most wonderful experiences I've ever had.

Nowadays, Chinese traditional costumes (服装) are very popular. Zhao Yonghui, who is in her {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (forty), is a Shanghai full-time mother. Over the past several years, she {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (make) a lot of traditional costumes for her daughter. 

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} idea of making traditional costumes was born in 2018 when her daughter needed one for a school event. Zhao was unsatisfied with the costumes sold online. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} she had experience in making clothes, she came up with the idea of designing and making the costume by herself. 

 "My daughter and her classmates liked the first homemade costume very much and other children even wanted their mothers to learn how to make one {#blank#}5{#/blank#} them. My daughter also felt very {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (pride) after receiving praise for wearing the clothes made by her mum," said Zhao. 

Encouraged by her daughter, Zhao bought books, visited a clothing museum, watched videos, and even asked professions (专业人士) for {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (suggest) on how to make more professional-looking costumes. Today, she can make nearly any type of Chinese traditional costume, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (include) Hanfu dresses, cheongsams, and a coat skirt from the late Qing Dynasty (1644—1911). 

Her talent has also attracted people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (learn) costume-making from her. Her students are {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (most) mothers and their children. "Teaching others makes me as happy as making these costumes by myself. " said Zhao. 

I a m a middle school student in Henan， China. Last year， the marathon（马拉松）in my hometown took place in July, a very1 month. I didn't2 the marathon because I thought it was difficult to run in such hot weather. But on my way home from school, I saw a disabled（残疾的）boy running in the3 ．I felt very worried． Then I4 him to see if he needed my help. "I should stay behind him, so I should run slowly." I said to5 .

After some time, I couldn't see the front runners and in the end I could6 see the disabled boy. He was the last runner! I thought he was7 at all sports games. "8 can he finish the marathon?"I wondered.

I watched as he slowly9 forward（向前）with difficulty． I would move forward a little， and then I would10 and wait for（等待）him． Then we would go on moving a little.

As I watched him try to11 faster, my heart began to beat faster, too. I wanted him to stop. But at the same time, I12 that he wouldn't.

I was so touched（感动的）and my13 were wet（湿的）．He was so great！ For him，it wasn't about beating the other runners or winning something, but it was about14 what he had decided to do.

Later in my life, when I think things are too15 , I will think of the boy——————the last runner.  By the way, he made it to the finish line that day.

This morning, I went camping along a path in Green Natural Park with my friends. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were expecting an enjoyable two- day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes. 

However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o'clock, it was dark and windy.  Soon there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide. 

Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we could reach the campsite (野营地). It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went the wrong way. We lost our way!

We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we were unable to light the fire,  ▲ . We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o'clock, it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us were very tired. 

This camping trip may not be very successful but we have got to know each other better. And the most important thing I've learned from this trip is the importance of teamwork.
