A 13-year-old American has made a cheap machine that can help blind people read.

 The blind can read by using Braille – a system of small bumps (隆起物) that the blind touch to read the letters. The machine that makes these small bumps usually costs at least $2,000. It is called Braille writer. The American schoolboy, Shubham Banerjee, made a new Braille writer from a Lego tool that lets people create robots. Banerjee has called his new machine the Braigo – a combination (组合) of the words  Braille and Lego. It costs just $ 350. It works by changing electronic text into Braille and then printing it using a computer or mobile machine.

 Banerjee designed (设计) his Braigo last year for a school science exhibition. Since then, he has caught the interest of Silicon Valley in the USA. The big technology company Intel spent money on Banerjee's machine last November, but they did not say how much money they put in. Banerjee also got $35, 000 from his father to help him start the project. His father works as a computer engineer (工程师) at Intel.  He spoke about why he gave so much money to his son, saying:”We as parents started to be interested more, thinking that he's on to something and this invention has to continue.”Banerjee told the AP News: “My dream would probably be having most of the blind people…using my Braigo.”

     I got out of the train station with my father. A woman came to him and said that her 1 had been stolen. She asked if he could 2 her some money to go back home. My father gave her what she asked for and told her not to 3 paying it back. I was shocked. How could my father be so 4? It was clear that she was telling a lie, staying at the station all day long 5 money.

    “She was lying!" I shouted. “ 6 did you give her the money?"

     My father looked at me. He was a bit 7."And what would you like me to do?" he said. “Should I tell 8 that I am a college professor and I can see through her scam(诡计)?" I did not understand him at all, and then he told me something that I have 9 forgotten. "First, she would not do this 10 she did not need the money. Second, I made her day, because now she thinks that she is 11 than me. It is more important to her than the money, but I do not 12 this."

     A week later, we were at the same 13, and the same woman came to my father with the same story. "Not this time," my father told her. “In your business, you 14 learn to recognize people. Try another story 15 me next week."

    “You'll have to 1our baby today,” a woman tells her husband. “I'm not feeling2today.” Don't worry, dear. I'll be very3 to do so, then you can stay in bed and have a good rest.” Her husband says.” Thank you. I'll have a quiet day and I will get4soon.” His wife tells him.

    “Do I need to do the 5 for you too?” her husband asks.

    The wife is very pleased and says, “That will help me 6 I'll give you a list of things to buy.”

    She writes out the list and 7it to her husband.

    “You can get all of the things at the 8” she says. “You can put our baby in the shopping cart, then you will not have to leave him 9”

    The man takes the baby10the supermarket and puts him in the shopping cart 11the rows （排）of the things to buy and looks for those things on the list.

    12everything goes well, but the baby begins to cry. Then he begins to scream（尖叫）. And scream! Scream!

    “Keep calm（保持镇定）, George,” the man says. “Don't get angry. Don't 13, George. Don't lose your temper（脾气）, George.”

    A woman in the supermarket hears 14 the man says. She walks up to him. “I think you are15 You are so patient（耐心） with your little George.” She says to him.

    “Madam, I'm George. He's Edward.” the man says.

    We may have many difficulties in life, and sometimes it's even unfair for someone, but it depends on how you face them. Sally is a student from a university, she made a1last August. She decided to take her grandmother2their hometown and live with her in a rented room(出租房) near her school.

    Sally's family have met a lot in the past few years. Her grandmother3her legs and she could walk only with a stick, Her father died because of illness, Sally's mother plagued (受折磨) by these events, she lost the4to take care of others, "This was the only choice. No one else could5my grandma, Sally explained. Her grandmother has also had a6life. The old woman's three sons have all died, and Sally couldn't leave her alone where7could look after her. A room with two beds, a desk and a table is their new home. The room8her several hundred yuan every month. In order to make money, Sally works in a supermarket after class and spends the money9the family. "I was brought up by my grandma, and now it's my10to take care of her," said Sally. When she was young, her grandmother "magically" prepared every meal11for her every day, even though she could not12a clock.

    In the eyes of Sally's teacher, the girl is a(an)13student. "Though taking care of her grandmother takes her lots of14, Sally has tried to stay on top of all her courses. She is even preparing for an English singing contest," Her teacher said. Sally even15help from others. "It's kind of like only getting without giving, she explained. At present, the girl is able to support the home with her weak shoulder.
