People like to read stories about dog very much. They thought dogs were very clever.

    One of my good friend , Bob ,had a very big dog . Its name was Bill. Every Sunday afternoon, Bob and Bill had a walk in the park , Bill liked walking with Bob very much.

    I visited Bob last Sunday. I stayed in his house for a long time. Bob and I talked with each other happily. Soon it was time for them to go for a walk in the park . We forgot that. Bill began to worry about it. He walked around the room and sat down in front of me and looked at me. But I didn't know this. I went on talking with my friend. At last, Bill couldn't wait. He went out of the room and came back soon. He carried my hat in his mouth. Oh, I knew what Bill meant.

    Mark Twain left school when he was twelve. He had little school education. In spite of this, he became the most famous writer of his time. He made millions of dollars by writing. His real name was Samuel Langhorne Clemens, but he is better known all over the world as Mark Twain, his penname.

    Mark Twain was born in 1835 and he was not a healthy baby. In fact, he was not expected to live through the first winter. But with his mother's care, he managed to survive. As a boy, he caused much trouble for his parents. He used to play jokes on all his friends and neighbors. He didn't like to go to school, and he often ran away from home. He always went in the direction of the nearby Mississippi. He was nearly drowned nine times.

    After his father's death, Mark Twain began to work for a printer, who only provided him with food and clothing. Then, he worked as a printer, a river-boat pilot and later joined the army. But shortly after that he became a miner. During this period, he started to write short stories. Afterwards he became a full time writer.

    In 1870, Mark Twain got married. In the years that followed he wrote many books including Tom Sawyer in 1876, and Huckleberry Finn in 1884, which made him famous, and brought him great fortune.

    Unfortunately, Mark Twain got into debts in bad investments(投资) and he had to write large numbers of stories to pay these debts. In 1904, his wife died, and then three of his children passed away.

    At the age of 70, his hair was completely white. He bought many white suits and neckties. He wore nothing but white from head to foot until his death on April 21, 1910.

    One day in a restaurant, the American writer Anne Herbert wrote this sentence on a piece of paper: "Random(任意的) actions of kindness." Later she repeated it in an interview on a TV show, and it soon caught people's eyes and made people think about how small "kind" actions could make our daily lives better.

    One rainy night, a woman was standing at a bus stop waiting for the bus. A man came by on a motorcycle and offered to give her a ride. Of course, the woman said no. It would be crazy to accept a ride from a stranger on a motorcycle. Suddenly the man reached out and put a 50-dollar bill in her hand. He said, "Please take a taxi. It hurts me to see you standing here in the rain." Before she could refuse, he left quickly on his motorcycle.

    Kind actions can be contagious. Once, a woman was going through a toll station(收费站) on a highway. Instead of paying for one ticket, she asked for two. She said to the toll collector, "The second ticket is for the car behind me." She didn't know the person in that car. She just did it without thinking more. So when the next car came up, the toll collector said to the driver, "You don't have to pay. The woman in the blue car just paid for you." The driver was so surprised that he decided to pay for the person behind him. This continued with 14 drivers that day.

    So just imagine what the world will be like if we all practice random actions of kindness from time to time?

    In this August, I had a trip called "Cultural Trip: Germany, Italy & France" to go to Europe with a group of American students.

    This was not my first time to other countries, but it was unusual one. Why do I think the trip Unusual? Travel agencies (旅行社)usually have travel buses for tourists, What about us ? For five days, we traveled along Germany by bike. We were tired but happy! For some times on the trip, something went wrong with someone's bicycle. But at the end of the trip, everyone was safe and happy.

    In Italy, we went to a kitchen to learn to cook Italian dishes, we made a great dinner and ended by making the chocolate cake. I gave full marks to that night!

    France was the last stop, we went to the capital of France, Paris. We went to the Eiffel tower and we even got onto it. The tower is 324 meters tall, It has three levels(层) for visitors. There are restaurants on the first and second levels. The top level is 276 meters above the ground. If you climb from ground level to the first level, you need to climb over 300 steps. There are another 300 steps from the first level to the second level. That's why people usually get onto the top level by lift.

    At sharing time, Logan waved(挥)his hand wildly. Ms. Lewis called on him." I lost my tooth," said Logan.

   "I remember," said Ms Lewis," It was yesterday.

   "You showed us the hole." said Zach.

   "Ms. Lewis took your picture for the board, and she gave you the tooth in a little box to take home," said Sammy.

   "Yes, but then I really can't find that box anywhere!" said Logan.

   "Oh, no!" said Emma." Only when the Tooth Fairy buys the lost tooth from us, can we grow a new tooth."

    Logan nodded." What should I do?"

   "Maybe you could leave something that looks like a tooth," said Sammy.

   "It's worth a try," said Logan.

    The first night, Logan left a round white eraser under his pillow(枕头) But it didn't work

    Logan reported back to the class. Zach advised to use a puppy tooth instead while Emma suggested white corn.

    That night, he put a kernel(谷粒)of white corn. Still nothing happened.

    The third night. Logan left a note under his pillow. It said：

    In the morning. Logan found a note from the Tooth Fairy under his pillow. He shared the note with his class at school.

    "If you sleep with your mouth open, she will be able to see the tooth hole," said Sammy. The class laughed. Come on! But that just gave me a great idea!" said Logan.

    The next day, at sharing time, Logan showed the kids a shiny half﹣dollar.

   "How did you get the Tooth Fairy to leave the money?" asked Zach.

    Logan said proudly." The photo! I took it home to put under my pillow."
