How much do you know about Albert Einstein?

Albert Einstein, born on March 14, 1879 in Germany, was a great scientist in the world. He was strange because he hated haircuts and new clothes. He believed in peace. All his life, he hated war. However, his most famous idea, E = mc², helped create the world's most dangerous weapon (武器). Many people think he was the smartest person in the world. But Einstein said that he thought like a child with many questions and unusual ideas.

What did he like?

Einstein liked learning sailing(帆船运动). He sailed in small boats all his life.  Heonce joked, "Sailing is the sport that takes the least energy!”

When Einstein was a child, his mother made him take violin lessons. At first, he didn't like the violin. But then he learned to love music and became a good violinist.

Later, he said, “Love is the best teacher.”

Why is the sky blue?

In 1910, Einstein asked a question which many children often ask, “Why is the sky blue?”After his careful research, he answered the question like this: “It's because light is made up of many colors including blue. When light travels to Earth, gas particles(气体微粒) spread the blue light all over the sky.”His answer is true in physics.

    Once there was a boy who was afraid of the dark. He thought that when it was dark his bedroom was full of monsters. But there came a time when he was too old to be allowed to keep sleeping with the light on.

    The first night he was so frightened that he couldn't fall asleep because he kept thinking about the monsters in his room. So he got up and went over to his wardrobe to get a torch. But when he opened the wardrobe door he came face to face with a monster, and he let out the loudest scream(尖叫)in the world.

    However, the monster didn't jump out to eat him as the boy had always imagined. To the boy's surprise, the monster took a few steps backward, grabbed(抓挠)its hair and started crying！The monster cried for so long that the boy's shock and fear slowly went away. He calmed the monster down as much as he could, and started talking to him, asking him why he was crying and what he was doing there.

    The monster told him he lived in the wardrobe, but almost never went out, because he was afraid of the boy. When the boy asked him why, the monster told him the boy's face with two eyes, ears and a nose seemed to him the strangest thing he'd ever seen. The boy felt exactly the same way about the monster who had a huge head with many mouths and a lot of hair.

    The two of them talked so much that they became quite friendly, and they realized that both of them had bee afraid of the same thing:t he unknown. To lose their fear, they had to get to know each other.

It was a hot summer day. Mr. Lee was in bed and was trying to go to sleep when he heard the doorbell {#blank#}1{#/blank#} . He turned {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the light and looked at his clock. It was twelve o'clock."Who can it be at this time of night?"he thought. So he got up and went to the door. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} he opened the door, there was nobody,"That is very strange."Then he went back to his room, got back into bed, turned off the light{#blank#}4{#/blank#} tried to go to sleep.

A few minutes {#blank#}5{#/blank#} , the bell rang again. Mr. Lee jumped out of bed very fast and rushed to the door. He opened {#blank#}6{#/blank#} , but again he found no one there.He closed the door, making himself calm down and trying not to be {#blank#}7{#/blank#} . Then he saw a piece of paper on the floor. He {#blank#}8{#/blank#} it up in surprise. There were some {#blank#}9{#/blank#}on it,"It's now after midnight, so it is April Fool's Day. April fool to you!""Oh, it was the English boy {#blank#}10{#/blank#} door!"

"What a naughty boy he is!"Mr. Lee said to himself.

Near Aunt Rabbit's house, there are five apple trees. She always asks her friends to eat her apples.

One day, a little monkey Jim comes. Aunt Rabbit says to him, "Little Monkey, come and have an apple!" Jim is so happy he likes apples very much. He goes up the trees and gets many apples down. He eats very fast. He thinks they're yummy.

The next day, Jim comes again( 又一次). "Aunt Rabbit, my grandpa is ill. He wants to eat some apples. Can you give me some?"

"Sure! There is a bag of apples. You can take it!" she says.

"Thank you!" Jim says happily. But after(在……之后) he leaves Aunt Rabbit's home, he eats all the apples.

After two days, Aunt Rabbit goes to ask for her bag. On the way, she finds some apple pits ( 核 ). "Jim cheats(欺骗) me!" She thinks. Then, she takes them to Jim's home.

After seeing them, Jim's face turns red and he says, "Sorry".

More than ten years ago, I finished my studies in college. I dreamed of having a job in publishing(出版业). I went for {#blank#}1{#/blank#} interview in a publishing company. I thought it would be a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (successful). However, I failed.
