Where are they?

    This is Tommy's bedroom(卧室). You can see a small bed 1the room. There's a toy(玩具)on the bed. You can see a light（灯）on the drawer. 2the photo? It's on the drawer，too. You can see 3on the chair. Where are the plants? They are4. The alarm clock, the pen and a cup 5on the table. 6you see a math book? Yes, it's on the floor. 

    Denny was a photographer. He travelled around and always did anything he could to take a good photo even if it was 1. He had photos of earthquakes, forest fires and even wars.

    His wife wanted to go with him, 2 he refused. "I travel for my work, not for 3 . I won't have time to look after you. Sometimes there's even nowhere to 4, and I don't often have a good meal or a bath for days. You won't enjoy yourself."

    "I can look after myself. Please take me with you." His wife begged.

    Denny finally 5. When he was asked to go to Africa, he said to his wife, "You can go to Africa with me if you like. I'll take photos of wild 6 there. It should be interesting and not too 7."

    His wife had an enjoyable time at first. Then Denny went to 8 some lions to photo. His wife went with him, but soon she got lost. Suddenly, Denny heard her crying. He ran back and saw a 9 running after her. Quickly Denny took his camera out and pointed it at his wife and the lion. Then he shouted, "10, woman! I can't get you both in the picture!"

    I used to hunt and have killed quite a few deer. There was great 1 in waiting and shooting.

    One cold morning in winter, I went alone to a hillside. I carried my gun and three thick sandwiches. I found a natural hiding place. It was pretty cold, but I had 2 clothing on. I sat there waiting for one hour. Nothing showed. The place was really 3.

    Suddenly, a beautiful buck(雄鹿) appeared. Surely I couldn't 4 it. I must wait for him to realize I was there. I waited for him to 5 with a start (惊吓).

    To my surprise, he came towards me! He was curious(好奇), I suppose. He must have known about men and their 6which would kill him. But he walked right up where I was sitting. Then he stopped and looked at me! I was getting a bit 7 now. A big buck can do a lot of damage.

    What happened next was hard to believe. But it all seemed quite natural. I reached up and scratched(抚摸) his head. And he 8 it. That big, wild, beautiful buck bent(弯下) his head.

    I scratched his body and fed him my last sandwich. Then he went his way, down the hill. I just watched him go--a strong buck carrying a proud head.

I decided to give up hunting from that day on.

    Whitney didn't have many friends. She was shy and1. She never wanted to be popular, but she did want to have someone to share2and laugh with.

    Then it was time for her to go to college in another town. And she had to3with someone she didn't know. She had no idea whether she could make friends in that new environment.

    It was getting dark. Paul looked out of the window and signed (叹气). Dad said he could come home by 5:30, but it was almost 7:00. Even if Dad came back, it wouldn't be much fun playing baseball in the dark. Paul walked into his room and threw his baseball into the corner. He tried to do some homework, but 1.

    The next day at school, Paul didn't hand in his homework. Mrs. Green4is Paul's Chinese teacher is careful and asked him to stay after school. "Paul, you didn't do your homework.     When Paul ended the call, he felt much relaxed. He didn't know whether his dad would be different, but it didn't matter. He himself changed. He expressed his feelings to the right person. He had10clear head while he was doing his homework that evening.
