      I need some advice on how to make friends! I have just moved to a new city. I am 13. I don't know anybody here and I want to make some friends. What's the best way? Where can I meet people?

     There are lots of things you can do. First, you can ride your bike in your neighbourhood and try to find some kids. When you find some, you can go up and talk to them. You should also let your parents know that you want to make friends because they can help you. Maybe you can ask your parents to take you to the library or some places where there are lots of kids. You could try joining an art class or a sports club. These are all great ways to meet people. You can also try making friends at churches (教堂) if you go to churches on Sundays. Try to be active wherever you are, but just be yourself and don't try so hard. It takes time and patience. I hope you will find a best friend soon!

    The world itself is becoming much smaller by using modern traffic and modern communication means. Life today is much easier than it was hundreds of years ago, but it has brought new problems. One of the biggest problems is pollution. To pollute means to make things dirty.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}We see it, smell it, drink it and even hear it. Man has been polluting the earth. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}Many years ago, the problem was not so serious because there were not so many people. When the land was used up or the river was dirty in one place, man moved to an-other place. But this is no longer true. Man is now slowly polluting the whole world. Air pollution is still the most serious. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Water pollution kills our fish and pollutes our drinking water. Noise pollution makes us angry more easily.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}They stop people from burning coal in houses and factories in the city, and from putting dirty smoke into the air. Pollution by SO, is now the most dangerous kind of air pollution. It is caused by heavy traffic. We are sure that if there are fewer people driving, there will be less air pollution. The earth is our home. We must take care of it. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}And we must take care of the rise in pollution at the same time.

    The Internet is becoming more and more popular. It brings us a lot of fun and convenience, 但它也引起一些新的问题。Children like the Internet. They would rather communicate with others online than talk with their parents.

And then we asked how much money they spent on snacks, books, movies, computer games, phones, transportation and other things last month. Our maths teacher helped us make a graph(图表) of their answers as follows.

    In our school, each student spent about{#blank#}1{#/blank#}yuan on average(平均) last month. According to the graph made by our{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, teacher, we know how much money the students spent on different things in our school. As the graph shows, they spent most on{#blank#}3{#/blank#}, covering 22% of all. It was followed by computer games and movies. Each of them was{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. But to our surprise, the students spent{#blank#}5{#/blank#}on books, only 6%.

    Not only adults but also teenagers have problems in their life. Here is a survey showing the main problems of teenagers.

    They feel stressed because they have too much homework to do both at school and at home. They have lots of exams to take. And parents usually send them to different classes at weekends. (3)They don't have their own time to do what they are interested in.

    Now more and more teenagers are getting short-sighted. They often read in bed or keep reading for a long time without having a rest. Some of them are crazy about playing computer games. Some spend too much time watching TV. (4)Another serious problem among teenagers is that many of them are becoming fat. They eat too much junk food, but they take little exercise.

    I think teenagers should think of ways to deal with the problems. They should make a plan for study and hobbies and find time to relax as much as possible.
