Each nation has many good people who help to take care of others. For example, some high school and college students in the United States often {#blank#}1{#/blank#} many hours as volunteers in hospitals, orphanages (孤儿院)or community( 社区)homes for {#blank#}2{#/blank#}people. They read books to the people in these places, or they just visit them and play games with them or listen to their{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    Other young volunteers go and work {#blank#}4{#/blank#}the homes of people who are sick. They paint, {#blank#}5{#/blank#}up or repair their houses, do their shopping or mow (修剪) their lawns (草坪) . For boys who have lost their fathers, there is an organization {#blank#}6{#/blank#}Big Brothers. College students and other men take these boys to baseball games or on fishing tips and help them to get to know things that boys usually {#blank#}7{#/blank#}from their fathers.
