Millions
of years ago, there were lots of trees on the Earth, because summer lasted all

Earth like a green carpet.
What was
the forest like? It's not difficult to find out, because parts of that{#blank#}2{#/blank#}forest still stand. The largest of today's
rainforest is in South Africa. It covers about a million square miles. All the
trees are very tall. The young trees are up to 60 feet high. But it is not easy
for some to grow{#blank#}3{#/blank#}, because
very little sunlight reaches them.

forest of all trees, not only plant life is rich{#blank#}4{#/blank#}animal life. At different eights live
different animals. By the many noises they make you know they are there.
