One day, a colt(雄马驹) took a bag of wheat to the mill. As he was running with the bag on his back, he came to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}small river. The colt didn't know how deep the river was. He looked around {#blank#}2{#/blank#}saw a cow eating grass nearby. He asked, "Aunt Cow, could you please tell me if I can cross the river?" The cow told him that he could cross the river {#blank#}3{#/blank#}it was not very deep, just knee high.

While the colt {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(cross) the river, a squirrel jumped down a tree and stopped him.

The squirrel shouted, "Colt, stop! You'll drown(溺死)! One of my {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(friend)drowned just yesterday in the river." Not knowing what to do, the colt went home {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(ask)his mom.

He told his mom his experience along the way. His mother said, "My child, don't always listen {#blank#}7{#/blank#}others. You'd better go and try {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(you). Then you'll know what to do."

Later, at the river, the squirrel stopped him again, "Little horse, it's too {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(danger)!"

"No, I want to have a try," answered the colt. Then he crossed the river {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(careful).

On the other side of the river, the colt realized that the river was neither as shallow as the cow said nor as deep as the squirrel told him.

You see, real knowledge comes from practice.

It was Christmas Eve in 1971. Juliana Koepcke was 1 over the Peruvian rainforest with her family.

Everyone knows that exercise is important. We all need to exercise. Doctors say it is good for us. It makes your heart and body strong. Children who often exercise are more alert（灵活）. That means they do better in tests and schoolwork than those who don't exercise. 

They are many ways to exercise. You can walk, run, swim, skate, or play ball games. Make sure you exercise in the following ways: You have to like what you are doing. Exercise enough— but not too much. It's best to exercise twice a week. Thirty minutes each time is enough. Try all kinds of sports until（直到）you find one, two or even three sports that feel right for you.

Gestures are used to replace words in many countries. They usually have different meanings in different cultures. Let's look at some of the gestures.

Extending the index finger means different things in different countries. The Chinese extend their index finger upward to show the number. They can refer to the number, such as "one", "one hundred", "one thousand", etc. In Japan, the index finger up means only one or once. This gesture means the first in order. In the United States of America, use this gesture when asking the other person to wait. In Australia, in bars and restaurants, the index finger is extended upward, saying, "A glass of beer, please. " But pay attention, in the Middle East, it is impolite to point at something with your index finger.
