Jason turned off the TV after watching the X Games. Sportsmen from all over the world were competing in the most amazing sports. 

Just then his grandmother walked into the room1 some cookies. Jason took one and said"I want to be extreme(极限). "

"You are!"she2 .

"I mean I want to be an extreme sportsman. "said Jason.

"Well, "she saId, "surfing is out. We are hundreds of miles from the3 . I guess it will have to be skateboarding. "

"Would you really let me? You always worry about my4 !"said Jason.

However, while watching kids in the park moving up and down the ramp freely, Jason felt a bit 10 . He knew that none of it was going to be easy.

When the first person looked up at the sky, the imagination of the space began. In China, there are many stories about the exploration of space. 

Thousands of years ago, there was a lady named Chang'e who flew to the Moon and lived there. It's a story just living in myths(神话). In the Ming Dynasty, a man named Wan Hu used the machine which was made of a chair, some fireworks and a kite as a rocket. He wanted to go into the space but failed. He was considered as the first human to try to explore the space. 

In 2003, when Shenzhou V successfully set off, Yang Liwei's words" ask for instructions to go to the war" brought tears(眼泪) to our eyes. Carrying the flying dream of the Chinese nation for thousands of years, the first" space visitor" of China, excellently completed his task. It started the space age for the Chinese. In 2008, Zhai Zhigang, Liu Boming and Jing Haipeng returned to space by Shenzhou VII. Zhai achieved the success of the first Chinese spacewalk. "I am out of the capsule(太空舱), I feel good, " he told the world proudly. 

In the following years, China kept on making its way to explore more about the space. Especially in the recent two years, China has launched (发射) Shenzhou XIII and Shenzhou XIV. Six astronauts have been sent into the space. 

From 2003 to 2022, China's manned space- flight has gone through about twenty years of hard, but successful journey. With the take- off again and again, Chinese people go farther and farther in space, but our dream is getting closer and closer. 

In the near future, Chinese people will be sent to the Moon and land on it. 

A few days ago, the British polar explorer and environmentalist (极地探险家及环境学家) Robert Swan visited our school and we asked him to give a talk on his trips. He was the first person walking to both the North and South Poles and he did something really amazing by reaching the South Pole only on renewable energy (可再生能源) . 

Swan's stories of his trips really impressed me. It was more than 30 years ago when he first went to the South Pole. There was nothing they could use to talk to people outside there and the nearest person to him and his teammates was 2, 500 kilometers away. So they had to face all the problems by themselves. He also told us that when taking a shower during the trip, you had to take off all your clothes in the temperature of -30℃ and finished the shower as fast as you could. 

In 2017, Swan set foot on the South Pole again, this time with his son. The trip was highly great, not only because Swan was already 61 years old, but also because it was the world's first trip to Antarctica (南极洲) to be made only using renewable energy. 

Also, he talked about the importance of saving energy and taking good care of our planet (星球). After his talk, I was sure what I should do and the hope for the wonderful future washed over me. 

Do you like living in a city? Look at the good sides. It is often easier to find work. And there is usually a choice (选择) of public transport (公共交通), so you don't need to own a car. Also, there are a lot of interesting things to do. For example, you can eat in good restaurants, pay a visit to museums and go to the theater and concert. What's more, when you want to relax, you can easily find a park to feed the ducks or just sit on the park bench and read a book. All in all, city life is full of interesting activities and you will never feel bored.

However, living in a city also has bad sides. For one thing, you must work hard and try to make as much money as you can. Because it is often very expensive to live in a city. Also, public transport is usually crowded, and even the parks can become full of people on Sundays. Besides, although there are many people in the city, it is still possible to feel lonely (孤独的).

I think young people like city life better because they love the excitement of the city and don't. mind the noise or the pollution.
