Different colour influence people differently．Red is an exciting colour．It creates an image of action, energy and danger．Red is often used in flags.80% of the world's flags have red in them．A study Germany showed that football teams that wear red are more successful．Blue is a very calm colour．Businessmen usually wear dark blue suits．Blue is also a peaceful colour．The flag of the United Nations is light blue．Yellow means freedom and green is a very relaxing colour．Some doctors nowadays wear green, because it's less tiring than white．White is a clean and strong colour．This is one reason why most doctors wear white coats．We believe in them more．People wearing grey do not want others to notice them．Brown is the opposite of black．It is warm and friendly．

Teenagers growing pains

    Today, our students are facing many different problems and they want to ask some experts for help. Nancy says she feel stressed these days because of too much homework. She hasn't enough time to sleep for a long time and often falls asleep during the classes. John says he doesn't like to study because of the bad effect of computer games. Cindy says she gets fat because she likes to eat junk food and hardly ever takes exercise. Frank has the worst problem. He always fights with others as he doesn't know how to get on well with others and few of his classmates would like to talk with him.

    Our school is on Guangming Street. It's next to the People's Library. There is a park across from our school. The pay phone is between our school and a post office. Our school is very beautiful. There are many trees and flowers in it. If you want to come to our school from the airport, take a taxi and go down Center Avenue. You can see a big restaurant on your right. There is a bridge near the restaurant. Go across it and turn left. Then go down Bridge Street. Turn left at New Park and go down Guangming Street. Our school is across from a bank.

    Attention, please. We have exciting news for you today. Our yearly Short Story Competition for teenagers is now open.

    The regular（常规）subjects "friendship" and "hobbies" are still choices, but this year we have a new subject "travel". Your stories should be fewer than 2,000 words. You can send your stories to the organizer, Mr. Smith in Room 209. There is an amazing prize for you. The best story will be printed in the magazine, New Writers. Don't forget to hand in your stories before September 30^th.

    And you will know the results on October 15^th.
