A kind of little cars may take the place of today's big ones many years later. If everyone drives such cars in the future, there will be less pollution in the air. There will also be more space for parking in cities, and the streets will be less crowded.
      The little cars of the future will cost less. Driving will be safer, too, since these little cars can go only 65 kilometers an hour. The cars of the future will be fine for going around a city, but they will not be useful for a long way. Little cars will go 450 kilometers before they need to stop for more gasoline (汽油). If big cars are still used with the small ones, two kinds of roads will be needed in the future. Some roads will be needed for the big, faster cars and other roads will be needed for the small, slower ones.

    A desert is a difficult place for animals to live, and some have unusual ways of making a living. The Texas lizard has a strange way to keep itself safe. The aye-aye lives only in the rain forest of Madagascar, near Africa. The aye-aye is a night animal. This helps it to stay safe from daytime predators. However, the number of the aye-aye keeps going down and they may die out. People have hunted it because they think it brings bad luck. Also, much of the rain forest in Madagascar has been cut down, which has destroyed the aye-aye's home. Today there are laws(法律) to keep people from killing it.

In northern China, lots of places have few trees and don't get much rain. People there have been cutting down too many trees. When there aren't many trees, the ground can't keep enough water. Over the years, the ground dries up and turns to sand. When spring comes and the ice melts (融化), the ground becomes looser (更松散的). Strong winds take the loose sand into the sky.

    Sandstorms are bad for people's health. If people take in too much sand, they could cough or have asthma (哮喘).

    Sandstorms also give farmers lots of problems. Sometimes their sheep get lost in the storms and never get back home. The winds also tear down farmers' houses.

    What can you do to stop sandstorms? Here's an idea: Ask your parents to help you plant some trees this spring.

    If you see people cutting down too many trees, tell them about the dangers of sandstorms, and ask your government to stop them from cutting.

    We all want to protect the environment, but we're mostly too busy or too lazy to put up big change. There is nothing new here but if you follow at least some of these tips, you can be proud of yourself in the protection of the environment.

    Use LED light bulbs: They last much longer and they can save energy.

    Donate: You have many clothes or things you want to throw. If they are still usable, give them to someone who needs them.

    Turn off your devices: When you do not use a house device, turn it off. For example, if you don't watch TV, turn it off. Turn off the light when you leave a room.

    Walk or cycle: Driving is one of the biggest causes of pollution. If you want to use your car, ask yourself the following question: do I really need my car? Walk or use your bike if the journey is a short one.

    Detergent (洗漆剂):Use less dose of detergent to wash your clothes or dishes.

    Leaky faucets(漏水龙头):Fix them, or they will waste a lot of water.

    Rainwater: Think of collecting rainwater. This water can be used for different purposes.

    All these tips will help you save money and protect the environment.
