In July 1969, Nei Armstrong became the first 1 to walk on the moon. People all around the world watched their televisions and 2 the spaceship to 3the earth. We have now discovered a lot more about our Solar system, and we have sent news to Mars, but no one has walked on that planet 4. But I believe that one day 5will.

    A first-grade student whose best friend is battling cancer thought that hours of playing and telling jokes was not enough - he wanted to show his buddy just how he understood the1time he was going through.

    Seven-year-old Vincent Butterfield2the only way was to cut off his hair in support of his best friend Zac who lost his hair through chemotherapy(化疗).

    Zac Gossage is receiving treatment but3goes to Union Central Elementary School in Missouri every day,4that's where he gets to play on the swing with Vincent. Vincent found out that Zac might5his hair because of the chemotherapy treatment. So one day, he showed up in the first grade class wearing a6He said to his teacher Mrs. Koester, "I have a surprise for Zac." And he pulled off his cap and other7saw that he already had all his hair8_off.

    "I did it just to make Zac feel he's not the only one without any9" said Vincent.Vincent has also been raising money for his best friend after learning how10his chemotherapy treatments are. He asked his mother to make11than 20 scarves and gloves. He and his mother12them at the price of 10 dollars each, raising over $200 for Zac. The encouragement from Vincent seems to be working. Though Zac is receiving treatments, he has13_missed any days of school. He knows that Vincent is out on the playground, waiting for him at break.

    When asked14friendship was, Vincent looked at his friend Zac, thought for a(an)15and responded,"It's a beautiful thing."

Clearly, wisdom doesn't always come with age.

    When I was a small boy, something happened to me that made me never put any wild creature in a cage.

    We lived near a forest, and every evening the mockingbird would come and1 I decided to catch a young 2and keep it in a cage, and in this way, I would have my own private musician. Then I succeeded in catching one and put it in a cage. At first, the bird was3so it fluttered (扑腾) in the cage. But finally it was used to living in its new home. I felt very excited with myself and4 some beautiful singing.

    On the second day, the little bird's mother flew to the cage with5 in her mouth. The baby bird ate everything. I was6to see this. Certainly the mother bird knew how to feed her baby better than I did.

    The following morning when I went to see my bird, I found it 7on the floor of the cage. I was terribly surprised and sad! What had happened?

    Arthur Wayne, a famous biologist, happened to8 my father at that time. After she knew my story, she explained to me, “A mother mockingbird, finding her young in a cage, will9 bring it poison berries. She thinks it better for her baby to die than to lose10”.

    Since then I have never caught any living creature and put it in a cage. All living things have a right to live free.

    When my best friend Lesa was seriously ill, I wanted to do something for her.1on the first day of her treatments（治疗）, another friend and I went to the hospital to2some time with her. We bought her a small toy clown（小丑）and3it Lemon-Aide. We gave Lemon-Aide to Lesa. We told her that it was to go with her to all of her treatments. We would like her to4that we were thinking of her even though we could not5be with her. She took Lemon-Aide with her to all of her treatments. When the treatments were6, she said she would pass it to7who was also badly ill.

    A few months8, much to my9, she10it to me. Lemon-Aide went with me to all of my treatments. One day while sitting in the doctor's office, I got a good11. I decided to make our own Lemon-Aide and then12them to people. And then we would give the money to the ill people who didn't have money. Lesa thought it was13. We designed our new Lemon-Aide – a soft14clown that stands for love, support, and hope. It is15men, women, and children of all ages. Now Lemon-Aide has been sold to 34 countries.

Saturday, June 16^th

    In the morning, we went camping along a path in Green Natural Park. We were happy because it was a 1 day. We were expecting an enjoyable two-day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes.

    However, in the afternoon, when we finished our2 at one o'clock, it was dark and windy. Soon, there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought 3. We ran about but we could find no place to hide.

    Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were 4 to go before we reached the campsite（营地）. It was even worse that our small compass（指南针） showed that we went to the wrong way. We had 5!

    We had to make a quick 6 as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us7. But we were unable to light the fire, as everything was 8. We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o'clock, it stopped raining. We decided to 9 the camping trip because all of us had been very tired.

    This camping trip may not be very 10 but we know each other better. And the most important thing I've learned from this trip is the importance of team spirit.
