    The Winter Olympics are also called the White Olympics. At this time, many colorful stamps are published (发行) to mark (标志) the great Games. The first stamps marking the opening came out on January 25, 1932 in the United States for the 3rd White Olympics. From then on, publishing stamps during the White Olympics became a rule.
    During the 4th White Olympics, a set of stamps were published in Germany in November 1936. The five Olympics rings were drawn on the front of the sportswear. It was the first time that the rings appeared on stamps celebrating the White Olympics.
    In the 1950's, the stamps became more colorful. When the White Olympics arrived, the host countries (东道国) as well as the non-host countries published stamps to mark the Games. China also published four stamps in February 1980, when Chinese sportsmen began to take part in the White Olympics.
    Japan is the only Asian country that has ever held the White Olympics. Altogether 14,500 million stamps were sold to raise (筹集) money for this sports meeting.
Different kinds of sports were drawn on these small stamps. People can enjoy the beauty of the wonderful movements of some sportsmen.

    Many people think dreams are full of messages that may not be clear to us common people. But if we think about what is going on in our lives, we can usually come up with an answer. Let's look at some of the most common dreams. What are the meanings of these dreams?

    Falling

    You're falling, falling, falling… and then you wake up. This dream is said to mean you are in fear of something or worried about something. There may be something in your life that is out of control and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Another explanation is that you may experience failure in something. Maybe you're not doing well in school or work.

    Taking an exam (or forgetting that you have one)

    You suddenly realize you have to take an exam at that very moment. You might be running here and there to find your classroom. Scientists say this dream may mean you're being tested about something or maybe you are facing a challenge.

    Flying

    Dreaming that you are flying means you are on top of things. You are in control of the things that matter to you. It may also mean you have confidence in yourself and think no one and nothing can beat you.

    Trying to run, but going nowhere

    You're trying to run, but either of your legs won't move or you simply aren't going anywhere. Some scientists think this dream means you're trying to do too many things at once and can't catch up or move forward.

    In fact, unlike these dreams, there are also many strange dreams that scientists may not be able to explain.

    Mum and dad are two of the most important people in your life. You probably see at least one of them every day. And they influence (影响) you more than anyone else you meet in your 1ife. So if your mom loves to read, you just might grow up carrying a book wherever you go, just like she does.

    But parents do a lot more than just passing on their hobbies. Mums and dads care for(关心)their children from the minute they were born. So they are the people we should respect(尊敬) and love best. It's very important to stay close, get along, and build a strong relationship with your parents. But not every child knows how to do this. Here are some ways to help you.

    Spend time together. Don't play a computer game or watch TV, ask your mum and dad to play with you. Go outside together, or read a book out loud.

    Be kind. Little things might mean a lot to your mum or dad. You can make your parents happy with a hug (拥抱), a card, or a joke(笑话). It's also lovely when a child cleans up his or her room without being asked. And if you try not to fight with your brothers or sisters, your parents might be very happy.

    Do your best at whatever you do. You don't have to be perfect, but when you do your best, you make your parents proud(自豪). It makes them happy to see how you're turning into a great kid. Why? Because it lets them know you're doing a good job.

Should We Keep Animals In Zoos?

    Zoos are popular places in communities around the world. They're places where people can learn about wild animals by seeing them up close. Some people  though, believe zoos aren't good for animals. They think wild animals should only live in the wild.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Wild animals have been kept in cages for thousands years. Over time, people began speaking out about the practice of keeping animals in zoos. The rise of animal rights movement and groups have led many to question whether or not zoos are right.

   {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    Zoos provide care for animals that they wouldn't receive in the wild. Animals are fed a healthy diet in zoos. Also, zoos have veterinarians who provide medical care for hurt or sick animals that would often be left to die in the wild. In some cases, zoos help animals to live longer.

   {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Though many animals live longer in zoos, some mammals live longer in the wild. Elephants live near twice as long in the wild as they do in zoos. Scientists believe the causes for this include elephants in zoos becoming stressed and depressed when they are forced to live in small spaces.

   {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    It may seem like a good thing that zoos set animals back into the wild, but there are often problems with this practice. Zoo animals don't learn hunting skills since they are fed by zookeepers. They also have no idea to stay away from predators, cars or hunters in the wild.

   {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    How much do zoos actually teach people about animals? A 2014 study showed that only 1000 out of 3000 children who visited a zoo learned something new. Groups such as PETA believe the biggest thing children learnt at zoos is that it's fine to keep animals in cages instead of in the wild.

A. Unable to go back

B. Caring for animals

C. Animals in the world

D. Spiritual problems

E. Rise of animal rights

F. The wrong lessons
