We need animals. Every animal has its place in the balance(平衡)of nature. We should try to help save the animals.

    Some people think zoos are good places. The zoos give the animals the comfortable and safe living places. If the animals get hurt or ill, people will take care of them. The zoo is a good place to know the rules in the wild world. We can be much closer to nature. We can know more about the animals in the zoos by watching, listening even smelling instead of just looking at the pictures in books.

    Some people don't think animals feel happy in the zoos. Animals like pandas, wolves and bears usually live in the wild. They play and find food by themselves. They are free and happy in the wild. If they are in the zoos, food is enough and rooms are comfortable. They do not need to do their best to find food to eat or places to stay in. They just walk around, sleep day and night, but they are not free at all.

I think we should build national parks as wild life nature reserves to protect animals. If we do nothing, animals will get fewer and fewer.

    Do you like sports? Are you getting enough exercise? Well, if you want an easy way to exercise, try walking.

    Sleep plays an important role in our life. A lack of sleep can influence our ability to work and study.

    Normal people need 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night. But for teenagers, a healthy amount(数量) is about 8 to 10 hours. Sadly, only of people manage that.

    Tiredness usually reaches its highest twice a day, at 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. That explains whys students easily fall asleep in afternoon classes. So sleeping at noon for a while helps us work better in the rest of the day.

    People can make mistakes if they don't get enough sleep. Students cannot pay attention in class or do well in sports. Drivers who have fallen asleep while driving have caused 1%﹣10% of the traffic accidents in our life. And we can imagine what will happen if a doctor feels sleepy at the operating-table!

    There are several ways that can help us sleep better, such as avoiding drinks that make us excited late in the day, going to sleep at the same time each night, and sleeping in a comfortable place that is dark, quiet and warm.

Our Class Rules

    Hello, everybody! I'm Lisa from Darwin International School. Today our class had a discussion about the class rules. Here are our different points.

    Some think we should listen to the teachers very carefully in class and write down the notes because schoolwork is the most important. At school when we are doing our homework, do not  talk—that may disturb(打扰) others. It is necessary to hand in our homework in time every day.

    The mobile phone is not allowed to be taken to our class because it may be bad for our study.

    Some think how to be a polite student is more important. We should pay attention to our manners. For example, when you cough, turn your head away from others and cover your mouth with your hand. Afterward, you should say, "Excuse me." Greet the teachers by saying something like, "Good morning Mrs. Graham!" In the dining hall, we should keep quiet while having lunch. After we eat, we must clean our tables and don't leave any litter. It is also important to answer all questions with a complete sentence.

    Our teacher Mr Jackson also showed his ideas. He said, "No matter what happens, always be honest. Accept that you are going to make mistakes. Learn from them and move on."

    In my opinion, it's a good idea to wear the school uniforms(校服)on weekdays because I will never think about what to wear next day!

    A long time ago, there was an old, poor fisherman who could not catch enough fish for him and his family to eat. One day, when he pulled in his fishing net, he found a bottle inside that looked valuable,{#blank#}1{#/blank#}But he was also curious to see what was inside, so he took the top off the bottle. Smoke came out of the bottle and then out came a big, powerful genie(怪物).

    The genie had been in the bottle for 400 years and was very angry. At first, he told the fisherman that he would kill him and the fisherman had to choose how he wanted to be killed. Scared, the fisherman decided to trick the genie. He told him that he did not believe he could fit inside the little bottle because he was so much bigger than it was. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}The fisherman told the genie that he had tricked him and then said he would only let the genie out again if the genie promised to help him instead of hurting him.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} The genie then took the fisherman to a lake where there were many special fish. The fisherman caught four of these fish and the genie told him to take these fish to the king. The fish were special because they could talk! {#blank#}4{#/blank#}The king was very impressed by this and he paid the fisherman a lot of money for the fish.

    The King also gave the fisherman's son a very important job and married one of the fisherman's beautiful daughters.

    It may be difficult to start high school. Thinking about making new friends might make you feel nervous.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}You are going to school with a group of students of your age. Here are several suggestions for you to follow.

    Forget your fear and just talk to someone. It's easier said than done. But try to take a deep breath and find your voice. Don't be afraid to approach (接近) people.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Sit in the middle of the classroom with as many new friends around you as possible.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Take part in after-class activities that interest you. Try to make friends in the clubs. If you don't join anything, you will be just going to class and then going home. Being in a club makes you more social.

    Stay clean. No one likes a bad smell that could knock someone over. Shower every day, brush your teeth and wash your hair.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    Be respectful (尊重的) of people's differences.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}And everyone believes in different things. It is a good thing to have different friends with different opinions because you can each share your own.
