I'm Amy . My old bike is broken . I can't ride it to school . So my father bought a new one for me today . It's small but beautiful . It's black . It's my favourite colour . It has got a big basket . I can put my bag in it. I can ride my new bike to school . I'm very happy .

    Of all the things we eat and drink, water is the most important. Nature has a great water system. Water is everywhere. It is in the air. It forms (组成) lakes and rivers. Water is in every living thing. It is in the most part of all the animals, plants and human beings (人类).

    People can use the water to carry goods and go around the world. People can also use the water to swim, have a bath, wash the food and clothes. Water is so important for every living thing, but man is polluting (污染) it. They throw rubbish into rivers. They pour waste water into lakes, rivers and seas. We must stop people from polluting the water right now. If not, the last drop of water will be our tear drop.

    It is a fine Sunday. Mike and his mother are going to the West Lake with Bob and his parents. Bob and his parents come from England. They go to the West Lake by bus.

    Now they are on the dike (堤坝)of the lake. How beautiful! The water is gentle( 温柔的)and clean. The willows(柳树) on both sides are waving(挥手) to the visitors. They get on a boat and row to the middle of the lake. Sometimes the lake is as calm(平静的) as a mirror. Sometimes there is a little wind, and the boat is like a cradle (摇篮)in the water. There is a big fountain(喷泉) in the lake. It's really fantastic( 极好的).

    It's said that(据说) the West Lake is one of the fairylands(乐园)in the world. That's true. Mike and his friends want to visit it again.

Amy: Hello, Miss White. Look at my picture.

Miss White: Good job! I like the trees. The colours are very pretty!

Amy: Yes. I like autumn best. The weather is good and the colours are beautiful! Which season do you like best, Miss White?

Miss White: Summer.

Amy: Why?

Miss White: Because I like summer vacation!

    There are some rules in our school. We must wear school uniforms in the school every day. We must wear sneakers in PE classes. Boys can' t have long hair. We shouldn't be late for school.

    We shouldn't talk in the school library. If we have any questions in class, we should put up our hands first. We should stand up when we answer teachers' questions. We mustn't fight against others. We should always obey the rules(遵守规则).

    This is my friend, Kate. She's 11 years old. She's tall and pretty. She's hard-working at home. She has many friends. Kate often speaks English in the morning. She can play the piano very well. Her favorite food is fish. It's fresh and healthy. We often go boating in the park. We are good friends.
