    Do you know what is useful to stop a cold? It is your body working against the virus(病毒)that makes you uncomfortable when getting a cold, but not the virus Itself? So if you are strong and the virus is strong enough, too, you will feel terrible.

    Vitamin C won't stop a cold

    It is said that Vitamin C helps you beat the cold. However, many tests have shown that it does not stop colds. It only helps you feel a little bit better.

    Staying indoors won't protect you

    Cold viruses like to stay on your computer mouse or desk. A study found that 47%of the viruses Indoors are on the desks, 46%are on the computer mice, and 45%on telephones.

    Wearing more clothes won't keep you away from colds

    Colds are more common in autumn and winter. That's because the cool, wet and cold weather drives people indoors where viruses may more easily jump from one person to another. And the peak(高峰期)in colds is in September and early January, because students come back to schools after the summer and winter vacation.

    Old grandma's chicken soup is right

    Grandma's chicken soup is a traditional way to help you get well. Scientists say it is true. The chicken soup does help to beat a cold. Many canned(罐装)soups are just efficient(有效的)as homemade ones.

    Sometimes, it seems that with all the homework and stress, being a student can be the worst thing. For people who are being bullied (欺凌), however, having too much work to do is the least of their worries.

    Bullying comes in many different forms. It could be someone hitting you, someone sending you terrible messages on social media, or someone saying bad words to you. No matter how it happens, being bullied is never a nice experience.

Being bullied can do great harm to a child's personal development. It is hard for bullying victims to trust others. They often feel angry, no valuable, helpless and lost. And these feelings will further undermine(破坏) their ability to control their own life.

    So if you or someone you know is being bullied, how should you deal with it?

    Well, you need to find out why the bully is acting this way. The reasons behind school bullying are various. Children are now more easily influenced by violence in both real life and online. They want to gain power by bullying other students. Usually, they pick on the nicest or most well behaved person. Because this kind of persons seldom fight back. Some left-behind children become bullies because they lack (缺失) family education.

    Whatever the reason is, there are many different ways to deal with a bully. The clearest way is to share your problem with someone else. All bullying is wrong. It is important that you talk about the problem with someone you can trust. Usually the best way to end your problem is to talk to your teacher or parents. Or, in some cases, standing up to the bullies may change their behavior. If they know that their bullying doesn't work on you any more, they may stop. What's more, parents and schools should devote more time and efforts to the troubled children.

    Most importantly, remember this: If you're being bullied, it's not your fault. There's always someone to help you—you just need to ask first.

    Teaching your child to read can be one of the most rewarding(值得的) experiences you have as a parent.

{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Nothing can replace the head start(起步时的优势) that a child receives from becoming familiar(熟悉的) with books and the way that the written word sounds when reading aloud. If your child sees that reading is important to you, then he will be much more likely to want to learn how to read himself.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    If your child shows interest in learning letters and looking through books, he may be ready to begin learning to read. Learning how to read cannot be rushed. If your child has no interest in learning his letters, then wait a month or so and try again.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    You can make this fun, such as saying "I see a [k]-[ӕ]-[t]-cat" whenever you see a cat. The sound of a letter is much more important than a letter's name because the child will need to combine the letter sounds to make words.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    Some children learn their letters faster by seeing or hearing them, while other children learn letters by using their bodies. Encourage your child to draw the letter and then paste pictures of something that begins with that sound onto the letter. Sing songs about the letter. Read your child a story that repeatedly uses that letter sound.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    Rather than try to teach a child 26 new letters at one time, focus on one letter a day or a week. This enables the child to master each letter sound and feel proud of himself/herself for doing so.

A. Show your child your love for reading.

B. Make sure your child is ready to begin learning how to read.

C. Focus on one letter at a time.

D. Teach your child the sound of each letter.

E. Use sight, sound and touch as you teach each letter.
