    Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which our old buildings, as well as many other similar ones, should be going to be pulled away to make room for a main street. So they had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautiful park. His apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area. Thus, Mr. Yang doesn't seem to worry about the long distance. He says that new subway line will be built in a few year and he is sure life will be better in the future.

    As a student, I have taken a great many of exams. Whether I have been good prepared or not, I will keep calm and confidently. That is because I know the purpose of exams is to find out the knowledges we can't understand. Therefore, there was a time when I was afraid of exams. I was afraid that I couldn't get high marks or fail the exam, I would be laughed at by others. Later, my teacher, she realized my problem, had the face-to-face talk with me. After I followed the advice giving by my teacher I finally overcame my fear.

    Beijing attract tourists all the year around; the best time to visit Beijing is in October. I pay a visit to Beijing for the first time on last Friday. I was there for only one day. Therefore, I was able to see lots of interesting sites and I did have great funs. Hardly had I arrived at the train station then I rented a bike. I rode around the city where colorful ancient temples decorated the streets, among that my favorite site was the Imperial Palace. Night falling and had to work the next day, I had quick dinner in a restaurant and then took the high-speed rail back home. I am dying to return soon for a long visit.

    Studying in the UK have been a good experience for me. When I first arrived, I find life very hard as I didn't know anybody here, but I soon got to know other Chinese student at the university. Later I became interesting in communicating with people from various cultures, and I made fewer friends.

    During my study, I chose to live in with my classmates in the dormitory. I think it's better than living in British family because I can meet people from different countries easy. The courses here are excellent. I enjoy the way the teachers give lessons. We are encouraged to think for yourselves, which is quite different from that I have experienced before.

    I seldom have the chance to talk native English speakers, even though I have learned English for many years. Last year my school has a cultural exchange program and there were some foreign students came to study in my school. I was lucky to become the foreign student's partner. My job was to help him solve daily problem. At first, I was much nervous that I couldn't speak very fluent when we talked in English. However, my partner encouraged me or listened patiently. As we communicated more, he taught me some interesting idioms, which made me to sound like a native speaker. How a valuable experience!
