Several times each year the Queen gives afternoon tea parties. But she simply sits beside a big silver plate, pouring cups of tea for everyone and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (skill) avoiding the cakes and sandwiches.

One morning in 2009, Larry was traveling along 165 north after delivering to one of his customers when he saw a car{#blank#}2{#/blank#}its bright lights on. As he got even{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(close), he found another vehicle upside down on the road. One more look{#blank#}4{#/blank#}he noticed fire shooting out {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(repeat) from under the disabled vehicle. Larry pulled over, set the brake and got hold of the fire extinguisher (灭火器). Two good bursts from the extinguisher and the fire {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(put) out.

    The man who had his bright lights on came over and told Larry he had made a call. They then heard a woman's voice coming from the damaged vehicle.{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (approach) the vehicle, they saw that a woman was trying to get out of the broken window. They told her to stay still, but she thought the car was going to explode. Larry told her that he had already put out the fire.

    Once fire and {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(emergent) people arrived, Larry and the other man backed off and let them go to work. Then, Larry asked the police {#blank#}9{#/blank#}he was needed or free to go. They let him and the other man go.

    One thing is for certain—It {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) his efforts that most likely saved the woman's life.

    Happiness can be described {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a positive mood and a pleasant state of mind. There are many factors {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(contribute) to happiness.

    A person in an apparently ideal situation is not {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(necessary) happy. The ideal situation may have little to do with his actual feelings.

    A good education and income are usually considered necessary for happiness. Though both may contribute, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} are only chief factors if the person is seriously undereducated or actually suffering from lack of physical needs.

    The rich {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(be) not likely to be happier than the middle-income group or even those with very low incomes. People with college educations are somewhat happier than those who did not graduate from high school, and it {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(believe) that this is mainly.{#blank#}7{#/blank#} they have more opportunity to control their {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(life). Yet people with a high income and a college education may be less happy than those with the same income and no college education.

    Poor health does not rule out happiness except for the severely {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(disable) or those in pain. Learning {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(cope)with a health problem can contribute to happiness.

    US writer Margaret Lee Runbeck once {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (write), "Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but {#blank#}2{#/blank#} manner of traveling." But traveling is not always happy, at least for the buddies in the movie Green Book.

    The movie {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (adapt) from the true story of a road trip through the southern US in the early 1960s. In the film, the black pianist Don Shirley hires Italian-American Tony to drive him to performances, but they face problems because of Shirley's skin color. These problems enable them {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (form) a special friendship.

    "There's something so deeply right about this movie, so true {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the time, said US film critic LaSalle. The time La Salle is talking about was between 1876 and 1963, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} African-Americans experienced a very different and difficult period. Many parts of the country had Jim Crow laws, which allowed {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (race) segregation (隔离). But in 1936, a blackmail carrier named Victor H. Green published a list of friendly {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (business) as a small book with a green cover. The Green Book helped African-Americans travel more safely. Then in 1964, Jim Crow laws went away. The book went away, too.

    Today many US people still remember the time of Jim Crow laws. But they {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (probable) don't know about The Green Book. It's a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (forget) part of the story.
