    I was asked to deliver the speech before the whole class at the age of nine! I felt shy the moment I thought of that. Therefore, I had no choice but to prepare for them. The real moment began when I stood on the platform with so many eyes fixing on me. My listeners were waiting patient. I gradually found myself back, giving my speech. My audience applauded at last, which means I made it. After then, my fear of talking before lots of people has been disappeared. The greatest difficulty on our way to success is your fear. Overcome it, we will be able to achieve our goals.

    I can still remember clearly the day after I had my first exam in Senior High. I didn't pass them. I was so scared that I even don't want to go to school any more. My parents looked my test paper calmly but said, “My child, we're very glad you has finished half of it and you can do better next time. We never expect you to do the best at a very beginning. We strong believe you can make progress gradually.” What they said made me to feel I could do things well. From then on, I have concentrated much on my studies. Now I'm always filling with confidence in my studies because I know my parents are always behind me.

    Listening, speaking, reading and writing are importance to our study. Of the four skills, I think listening is the harder. I like watching English films but I have trouble understanding the way in that native speakers speak.

    I am not happy with this situation, but last week I have a talk with my friend Wang Ting. She told me some good ways of improve listening. She suggested using my iPad to listen English songs and learn English expression. Besides, she said watching the news and interviews on CCTV9 were also helpful.

    I will do as her advised. I'm sure I will gradual make progress.

    In Sunday evening I was in a local pizza takeout when couple of teenagers came in. They each ordered a small pizza for them and then they ordered another four large pizzas to be delivered to the nearest police station, where was having a training night. They asked for the delivery person to include a note writing by themselves. In the note they thanked the member of the police station for all they did for the community and for helping their friend when he is in a serious accident. They explained far that he wouldn't be alive but for their great efforts. I don't know these kids, but I am very pride of them.

    It was in a hot summer holiday which I visited Xiamen, port city in Fujian Province. My favorite sport is swimming, so I make up my mind to swim in the sea one afternoon with my friend, Tom and Lisa.

    It was my first time to swim in the sea, with the waves come one after another to the shore and making huge noises. Facing the rough sea, I felt a bit thrilling and even wanted to give up at first. And when I saw many people enjoying myself in the water, my fear was gradually replaced by excitement. Finally, I joined in the swimmers. Now I still remember how wonderful I could swim in the sea that day.
