A major source of teen stress is school exams, and test anxiety(焦虑) is not uncommon. When you recognize your teen is under stress,how can parents help your teen stay calm before an exam?
Be involved. Parents need to be involved in their teen's work.What they look for is your presence—to listen, to talk,to cry, or simply to sit with them quietly. Communicate openly with your teen. Encourage your teen to express his worries and fears,but don't let them focus on those fears.
Help them get organized.Together,you and your teen can work out a time-table in which he/she can study for what he/she knows will be on the test.
Provide a calm setting. Help your teen set up a quiet place to study and protect his/her privacy. Give them a nutritious diet. It's important for your teen to eat a healthy,balanced diet during exam times to focus and do his/her best.If this happens,encourage your teen to eat light meals or sandwiches. A healthy diet,rather than junk food,is best for reducing stress.
Persuade your teenager to get some sleep and do something active when he/she needs a real break from studying. Making time for relaxation,fun,and exercise is all important in reducing stress. Help your teen balance his/her time so that he/she will feel comfortable taking time out from studying to spend time with friends or rest.

Life is full of surprises and events that sometimes change one's daily routine. Some of them might be good and pleasant. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} For example, during an examination, you discover that you don't know the answers; one morning you are suddenly told that you get fired from your job. These unexpected events may cause anxiety and stress. So you need to find some ways to be less affected by them.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Even if you live the same kind of life, doing the same things day after day, there could be unexpected events. So you need to realize that such events can't be avoided and you need to be prepared for them. In this way, you'll find it easier to deal with whatever happens in your life.
Have a positive attitude. Not all unexpected events are bad. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} For example, even getting fired for work could finally turn out well, as you might find a more satisfying job.
Introduce small changes into your life. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} You can try eating a different breakfast or drink tea in the morning instead of coffee, or do things that you usually do, but in a different way.
Always focus on the present moment, learning from it and making use of new changes that come your way. In other words, make the most of the present moment, instead of thinking about what you lost, or how bad the situation is. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}
