Four Seasons

    Spring is the best season of the year. It lasts from March to May. The days get longer. The nights get shorter, and the weather gets warmer. Everything begins to grow. Grass and trees begin to turn green. Flowers begin to come out. Children begin to flykites outdoors.

    Summer comes after spring.  It is the hottest season in theyear. It lasts from June to August. People try to find a cool place then. They always go swimming in pools, lakes, and rivers.

    Autumn is the harvest season. It gets cool. Farmers begin to reap (收割).They are busy from September to November.

    The coldest season ofthe year is winter. It's from December to February. The days are short and thenights are long. It snows sometimes and that makes the children happy. They make a snowman and dance around it. They go ice-skating as well.

    Today is Saturday. In the morning, Xiaoyong is sleeping, but the phone rings. He wakes up from his dream. He gets up and goes to the park near his home. He is doing exercise, but it starts to rain. He has to go home. He is doing his homework at home, but the bell rings.

    In the afternoon, Xiaoyong is riding his bike, but suddenly(突然)a little dog runs to him. He falls off his bike. He is so sad.

    Summer is hot but don't stay at home all the time. It is a sunny day. The wind blows gently. Jimmy and his friends go camping with their teacher, Miss Li.

    They drive for an hour and find a beautiful place in the countryside (乡村). The place has a mountain, a lake and a forest. It is a great place for camping. Jimmy and his friends help Miss Li set up the camp. Then, they play.

    The lake looks nice. It is not deep (深), but it is very clean. Joe and Jimmy go fishing. They sit and wait for a long time. They don't move because fishing is a quiet sport.

    The mountain is nice too. Sue and Mary climb the mountain. Hiking is their favourite sport. It makes them strong.

    Jack and Ann find a small path to the forest. They go biking in the forest. It's fun but they can't go too far or ride too quickly.

    Johnny is a fat boy. He doesn't like playing or doing sports. Miss Li says: "You need to move your body. Sport is good for you. Let's play badminton together. "So Johnny plays with Miss Li.

Dear Peter,

    How are you?

    I went to a birthday party at a fast food shop yesterday. It was my kindergarten friend Vivian's eighth birthday. I met many kindergarten friends at the party. They have changed a lot!

    Adam is very tall now. He was very short when he was five.

    Dora is quite short and fat now. I remember she was thin and tall when she was five. It seems she stopped growing taller. Vivian has long hair now. She had short hair when she was five. She played the violin at the party. I didn't know she could play it Bravo!

    My friends said l was the only one who had not changed much.

    I was fat and short when l was five. And I am still fat and short!
