Trees are useful in three important{#blank#}1{#/blank#}  .The most important way is that they  provide man with food , wood and other products. Trees provide food not only for man, but also for animals.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}trees, many animals could not live on the earth. It's not {#blank#}3{#/blank#} for man to live on the earth, either.
    The second important way is that trees give us shade(树荫). On a hot summer day, people are eager to have a rest under the shade of a tree after{#blank#}4{#/blank#}a long way. You can imagine how important the shade of a tree is to man and animals.
    The third important way is that trees help to{#blank#}5{#/blank#} droughts and flood. However, in many parts of the world, man hasn't realized it. He has cut trees down in large numbers. In the end, he finds that he has lost the best friends he had.

In 2012, I had just become better from a serious illness when I received an invitation to a writer's conference in Orlando, Florida. My family suggested that a h{#blank#}1{#/blank#}might be just what the doctor orders, so off I went.

    I was rather t{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, arriving in the Sunshine State, but I managed to catch a taxi to my hotel and settle in. The next morning, I took another taxi to the shopping centre to buy a few gifts. Later I went to a café to have lunch, but all the tables were full of people. Then I heard a f{#blank#}3{#/blank#}voice saying, “You can s{#blank#}4{#/blank#}my table.”

I thankfully sat down with the old lady and we had a happy lunch together. As the m{#blank#}5{#/blank#}drew to a close, she asked how long I would be in Orlando. I had already told her that I hadn't hired(雇用) a car, and I hadn't realized how e{#blank#}6{#/blank#}taking taxis would be, after a while she said, “My dear, don't use any more taxis. I`m retired and it would be my pleasure to drive you wherever you wish.” I told her that I couldn't put her to that t{#blank#}7{#/blank#}, but she took no notice of my protests(反对). She asked me where I was staying and the next morning she was w{#blank#}8{#/blank#}at my apartment at the exact time to take me to Disney World. She spent some time with me before leaving me to explore(探索) alone. At the end of the day, she returned to take me back to where I stayed. I o{#blank#}9{#/blank#}her money but she refused to take any.

    I`ll never forget that wonderful lady who, through her kindness, f{#blank#}10{#/blank#}my short holiday in Florida with wonderful memories.

    Amanda is a very kind girl.She is always {#blank#}1{#/blank#}to help people who are in trouble.Now Amanda is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} in the university of Texas.At the same time，she is volunteering to teach at Heart House in her{#blank#}3{#/blank#}time.Heart House is a local after－school program for children.It {#blank#}4{#/blank#}some extra education for those children who are not doing well in their studies.

    Because of Amanda's website，every week 125 volunteers {#blank#}7{#/blank#} about four hours helping the children at Heart House now.“Without Amanda's website，Heart House would be{#blank#}8{#/blank#} to have enough volunteers.Her support is much appreciated，” the program leader says.

    “I feel happy to teach those kids how to study.The{#blank#}9{#/blank#} thing is that I can also learn a lot from them.I won't give up volunteering after graduation.I hope to {#blank#}10{#/blank#}teaching kids who need help，” Amanda says.
