During our daily life, we are often faced {#blank#}1{#/blank#} problems that simply turn out {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(be) more difficult than {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(expect), and this, in turn, causes great negative feelings. However, most difficult {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(experience) will become {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(value) lessons,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} can help us prevent future mistakes. Besides, the tough situations {#blank#}7{#/blank#}we can see ourselves differently offer us an opportunity to achieve self-promotion, and they also make {#blank#}8{#/blank#}easier for us to get through hard times in the future.

    As long as we have {#blank#}9{#/blank#}strong will, the temporary difficulties {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(overcome) and we can live through them with a better preparation for the future.

    While thousands of college students headed for warm climate to enjoy sun and fun during their week off from classes, seven local students had other plans.

    The Northern Essex Community College (NECC) students and one of their teachers spent part of their spring break in New York City, helping repair an area{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (destroy) by the hurricane.

    “I wanted to see for myself what happened,” said Terry. “I couldn't imagine{#blank#}2{#/blank#}it is like to lose your home and everything that you know and the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(power) effect the hurricane had on those people. I wanted to do something, to understand their feeling of helplessness.”

    The group headed into Brooklyn's Red Hook district, which was hit hard by the hurricane. There they met people from other parts of the country,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}had also volunteered to help. Together, those volunteers and the NECC students{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(work) to clear rubbish out of a three-story building. They put on protective suits and gloves{#blank#}6{#/blank#}they entered the building.

    Inside the building, the students saw nothing but broken walls and doors and pieces of the building {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(lie) all over the place.

    The students returned to school with{#blank#}8{#/blank#}sense of achievement, a feeling that{#blank#}9{#/blank#}helped people in need. I was remarkable how a community lost so much and was still able to recover, and this left the deepest impression{#blank#}10{#/blank#}the students.

    We get the energy for our movements {#blank#}1{#/blank#} food. Human beings are just like machines.  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(work) properly, we must be well energized. The energy chiefly comes from the three meals—breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(important) than the other two meals in a day. For one thing, after a night's sleep, most of the energy stored in the human body  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (consume). Breakfast serves the purpose of restoring energy, thus {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(make) us energetic again. For another, in the course of a day, morning is the period of time in {#blank#}6{#/blank#}we work with high efficiency. Without breakfast, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} efficiency would be lowered. Finally, the constant lack of breakfast can lead to stomach trouble. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}, to keep fit, we must have breakfast every day. It {#blank#}9{#/blank#} be a cup of milk with some bread, or a bowl of porridge with some steamed bread, or anything else of the similar kind. Anyway, we must eat our food, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a good breakfast can not only ensure our good health but also make a good beginning for a new day.

    The annual Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is Harbin's main tourist highlight. It is the world's biggest winter festival. The {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(bitter) cold winters are just right for this festival.

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#}sets the Harbin festival apart is the scale and size of the sculptures and the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(beauty) lighting. It is bigger than {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ones in Sapporo, Norway, and Quebec.

    At first, mainly Chinese{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(participate), but in the last decade, it has become an international festival and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(compete). As the festival grows in international participation, and as China's economy grows, the size of the snow sculptures and ice architecture exhibits keeps {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(grow) The work going into making these exhibits is astounding, and their size and beauty is amazing.

    The lightning {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(effect)on the huge ice sculptures in the Ice and Snow World are technologically complex.

    Officially the festival {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(hold) from the end of December through February. Opening dates keep changing, and ending dates partly depends {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the weather.

    The Sun Island Scenic Area will be opened from Dec. 21 to Feb. 28.
