    How is everything going recently? I'm writing to tell you something more about my birthday. The other day we hold aparty to celebrate my 18th birthday. I received many presents from my friends and parents, including cards, books, CDs or so on. During the party we sang and danced, having good time. I thanked my friends for his help and company. At the meantime, I showed my sincere appreciation to my parents for bringing me up. Now I grow up, that means I should shoulder more responsibilities.     I don't remember exact how old I was when I began to ride a bike. I only remembered how I practiced riding a bike in early years. When I first successfully rode a bike, that remains a vivid memory, my brother helped me with holding the back seat of the bike while I was riding. “Wow, I did it!”, cried I, as soon as he noticed I was riding without his hands hold it! I learnt quickly, and soon, even though my feet were not touching the ground, but I was able to cycle around six kilometer a day to school! It's so lovely to remember which happened at that time.

    The winter holiday is coming. I as well as Li Ming are going to do something meaningful. What can be seen, the Yellow River is not as cleaner as it used to be. People throw a large amount of rubbishs into the river every day. Besides, many factories pour a great deal of waste water into it, thus cause a serious water pollution. It is time that we do something to protect the river now. Li Ming and I will pick the rubbish floating on the river, that may make the river look cleaner. What's more, we intend to give a speech in the public to increase people's awareness of protecting our mother river. I'm sure they will take on a new look in the near future.

    One day, I was cooking in the kitchen when the telephone rings. I went to answer it immediately. She was my close friend, Lisa. When we were talking on a phone, the fire alarm sounded. I dashed back to the kitchen. The room full of smoke and the beef was bad burnt. I quickly turned off the gas, opening all the windows, and then rushed out of the house. In my surprise, two fire engines were outside my house. I was rather worrying. I told about the firemen that it was my careless cooking which caused the heavy smoke.

    Today, when I walked to home after school, I found the sunset was very beautifully. I stopped at the park and sit on a bench to appreciate the scenery. There was so many people at the park, most of whom were old couples, but they went for a walk. There was a special couple walk hand in hand, which caught my attention. The old woman couldn't walk well because there was something wrong with her right legs. The old man took care of them carefully. They set good example to the young couples, showing that true love is. Against the sunset, they made up a beautiful scene.
