    Gain experience that combines well with a Culinary Degree.Working hours include weekdays 3-7 pm and every other weekend 11 am-7 pm.Must be willing to work every other weekend and during some holidays.20-24 hours per week.$ 11-75 per hour+$ 4.02 per hour (see benefits),Total$15.77 per hour.

Duties:

    Prepare and serve food to people of a community correctional facility（社区管教所）.Work under the direction of the Dietary Manager.

Requirements:

    Must be flexible,reliable,and energetic.Must pass a criminal background check,drug test,and physical test.

GAOMI, Shandong, Oct. 11(Xinhua)—China writer Mo Yan said last Thursday that he was “very surprised” at winning the Nobel Literature Prize.

    “I am very happy,” he said. “I was having dinner when I received the news. I was surprised.”

    “Thank you for coming all the way to Gaomi. This should be a season of red sorghum, but no such crop is planted any more. I believe none of you have seen the crop.” he said.

    “The Nobel Literature Prize is a very important literature prize, but not the top award. It represents the opinions of the jury(评审团). I am satisfied with my major works and I still keep writing by hand. My works are Chinese literature, which is part of world literature. They show the life of Chinese people as well as the country's unique culture and folk customs. Meanwhile, my novels described human beings in the broad sense. I wrote in the perspective（角度） of a human being. These works stand beyond regions and ethnic(民族的)groups,” he said.

    Mo's win brought joy to other writers and readers throughout the country as he is the first Chinese native to win the Nobel Literature Prize in its century-long history.

    Most painters discover a style of painting that is fit for them and stick to that, especially if people admire their pictures. But Picasso, the great Spanish painter, was like a man who had not yet found his own particular style of painting. He kept on struggling to find the perfect expression till his death in 1973.

He showed us what the mind knows as well as what the eyes see. At the age of 90,he remained as curious about the world as he had been when he was young.     Next time your mobile rings, let that be a reminder that “they're calling on you”!

    Many years ago, my mother read from the book Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey to me. I remember as if it were yesterday, hearing her voice at my side on a cold wintry night. My mother's voice changed my world.

    Long before I could read on my own, she shared with me the strength and beauty of McCloskey's language a story of a little girl and her mother out in nature, co-existing with a mother bear and her own baby. The power of the story, of language and of my mother all came together. And it happened many times after that, over and over. The read aloud made me a reader.

    Years later, I was reading aloud a picture book to a small child in a classroom. His life, so far, had not been easy. His childhood was troubled by poverty and loneliness. In that moment, in the joy of the read aloud, he had an idea that started something big.

    What he said was this: "Mrs. Allyn, let's make sure everyone knows how good this feels. Let's have a holiday for the read aloud" Therefore, my organization, LitWorld, created a grassroots movement World Read Aloud Day in 2010 to honor this young boy's wish for everyone to be able to have a read aloud every day.

    Since the day he shared that good idea with us, World Read Aloud Day has become a worldwide event reaching over one million people in more than 65 countries around the world. This year we are over 600 cities strong, a number that is growing every day.

    Children who grow up as readers become engaged citizens of the global world, and every child deserves the right to read. When I say that reading aloud will change the world, I know it sounds simple. But one of the many great things about giving kids access to the power of stories and sharing them together is that it is simple. It is also cheap and easily done. And the impact is huge.

    Originally a local event in a small town close to the Russian border, the fifteenth annual contest drew many throwers from as far as Canada, Russia and Belgium.

    Founder Christine Lund describes the event as a good source of light exercise with an environmentally-friendly activity. "There are a lot of mobile phones on the second-hand market, and we are recycling them（before they become poisonous waste）," she said.

    The inventive Finns had already given the world the Sauna World Championships and the Wife Carrying Competition before coming up with a new way to make mobile phones even more mobile.

    This year's gold medal went to Finland's Lassi Etelatalo, who threw a waste Nokia unit a forceful 89.00 meters. "I prepared by javelin（标枪）throwing, I haven't really practiced throwing mobile phones,"Etelatalo said.

    Lund says competitors all have their favorite throwing brand. "People choose by size, by color or by how it fits in the hand……Some believe a heavy model will ensure a long throw, some want a light one."
