"Vegetable BasketLine"

In southwest China's Chongqing, more subway lines are rolling out(延伸) to the rural areas(农村区域) around the city, particularly(特别是) Line 4. Known as the "Vegetable Basket Line", Line 4 connects the city's northeast Shichuan town to the city center. It has a total length of 32.8 kilometers and 15 stations. Since its opening in 2022, it has offered local farmers near the town more ways to sell their vegetables. The vegetables used to be sold at low prices in the town. But now they can be sold at higher prices in the city.

Every morning around 6 o'clock, the Shichuan town station is crowded with farmers. They carry baskets(篮子) filled with fresh vegetables on their backs, or use shoulder poles(肩扛杆) to carry the baskets. The station used to open at 6:15 am. To help the farmers, now it opens five minutes earlier every day.

In Chongqing, people over the age of 65 can take the subway for free. The opening of this subway line helps the elderly not only save money but also save time. An elderly couple in their 80s take the subway to sell vegetables every morning. According to the couple, it used to take them more than one hour to reach the city center as they had to take several buses. Now, by taking the subway, they can get there in less than 30 minutes. And they can sell all their vegetables in less than three hours after arriving at the market.

I'm Martin. I'm a middle school student in England. The buildings in my school are all blue. 

Walk into the school, and you can see a big garden in front of you. There are green trees and red flowers in it. Behind the garden, that's our classroom building. It is between a library and a playground. In the classroom building, there're two science labs, four computer rooms, a theatre room and thirty classrooms. In each(每一个) classroom, there are desks, chairs and a big TV. 

After school, some students go to the library to read books. Some go to the playground to play football. And some go to the theatre room to watch plays. I like going to the theatre room with my friends. I like our school. 

Xiajiang Village is in Chun'an County (县), Zhejiang and has a population of about 800. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Hangzhou to get to the small village. It is famous for its beautiful views. Many tourists like to spend their holidays here. 

The village has a history of over 800 years. The first people here were from Sichuan during the Northern Song Dynasty. From then on, they have called the village home. 

It has beautiful views, but the village is far from big cities. So few people knew about it in the past. One part of the famous movie My People My Homeland was made here in 2020. The successful movie has brought a lot of tourists here from then on. 

Tourists like the green mountains, fresh air and clean water here. Everywhere in the village, you can notice green grass, red flowers and nice trees. There are also many things for tourists to do here. They can learn to make zongzi, visit farmers' houses and learn some farming work. At night, they can live in bed-and-breakfast places. The village was named in the list (名单) of Best Tourism (旅游) Villages in 2023. 

It is never very hot in summer or very cold in winter. So come and see the beautiful village at any time of the year. 

China is famous for its beautiful mountains and clean water. The following is a list of some mountains in China. 

Mount Tai

Location:Shandong Province

Elevation(海拔):1532. 7 metres

Mount Tai is one of the"Five Great Mountains"and regarded as the most important one. It is a mountain of historical and cultural value. And it has been a place of worship(膜拜) for at least 3, 000 years. 

Mount Huang 

Location:Anhui Province

Elevation:1864. 8 metres

The area is famous for its scenery , such as sunsets , rocks, pines , hot springs and views of the clouds from above. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also a famous place for high quality(高质量的) Chinese tea. 

Mount Gongga

Location:Sichuan Province Elevation:7, 556 metres

It is the highest mountain in Sichuan Province. It is also known to the local people as "King of the Sichuan Mountains". 

Changbai Mountain 

Location:Jilin Province Elevation:2, 749 metres

It is the highest mountain in Northeast China. There is a large crater(火山口)lake, called Heaven Lake on the mountain top. 

In the northern Thailand, there's an attractive jungle (丛林) where you can sleep right in the middle of an elephant group. I tried it, and it was life-changing.

It's been my longtime wish to get up closer to the elephants. When I discovered the Jungle Bubbles, I was so excited that I jumped at the chance to spend sundown to sunup with elephants as my nighttime neighbors.

At 5 p. m., I was led along a stone path, and there they were: the Jungle Bubbles. There was complete privacy(隐私) with a wooden fence(栅栏), and all I saw and heard were elephants. It seems elephants never sleep. Well, they actually get two or three hours a night, and according to scientists, they may lie down for an hour every few days. Nothing is more interesting than watching elephants closely for such a long time.

When my guide left, it was 5:30 pm. It was still warm, and the light was golden. It was a perfect moment for pictures! I was as giddy as a kid opening presents on Christmas morning when I took pictures of the elephants standing just a few yards away. It was amazingly relaxing here. The only thing I had to do was watch elephants. I took a beer and watched them in the evening playing in a mud hole.

When the sun was down, I sat in the dark listening to the elephants eating leaves and insects buzzing(嗡嗡叫). The stars began to appear in the sky, this surely qualified as one of the most peaceful places on Earth.

Zhi Nong was a photographer who was born in a small town in Yunnan Province. When he was young, he moved to Kunming with his mother. Feeling like a caged (笼中的) bird in the big city, he was bored with the busy and noisy city life and wanted to close to the nature.

His chance soon came. In 1983, be helped make a movie about birds. What he did before led him to take photos of flying birds.

In the 1980s, the Internet was not that popular in China and cameras were expensive. He borrowed a camera and began to study how to use it. During that time, the library have favourite place where he first read some and began to study how to use it. During that time, the library became his favourite place where be first read some magazines about nature. It opened a door to nature for him.

In 1992, a research programme was set up to protect a kind of unusual monkeys which only live in China. Usually, the home of these monkeys has half-a-year-long winters. It brought a lot of difficulties to Zhi Nong's work, but he never stopped. "I didn't see the monkeys in the wild until I went into the mountains the third time." said Zhi Nong. He went into the snow mountains six times just to get great photographs of the monkeys.

Three years later, his works won international prizes. People around the world began to notice the protection of wild animals in China. And he is the first Chinese winner of the World Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

In order to call up (号召) more people to protect wildlife with cameras, he started "China Wildlife Photography Training Camp". He hopes that more young people will join in for the nature protection.
