High in thick bamboo forests in the misty, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (rain) mountains of southwestern China {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (live) one of the world's rarest mammals: the giant panda, also called the panda, Only about 1,000 of these black-and-white {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (relative) of bears survive in the wild.

    Pandas eat almost nothing {#blank#}4{#/blank#} bamboo shoots and leaves. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (occasion) they eat other plants, fish, or small animals, but bamboo accounts for 99% of their diets.

    Pandas eat fast; they eat {#blank#}6{#/blank#} lot, and they spend about 12 hours a day {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (do) it. The reason is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they digest only about a fifth of what they eat. Overall, bamboo is not very nutritious. To stay healthy, they have to eat a lot-up to 15 percent of their body weight in 12 hours-so they eat fast.

The shape of these teeth helps the animals crush the bamboo shoots, leaves, and stems they eat to get the bamboo to their mouths, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} hold the stems with their front claws, which have enlarged wrist bones that act as thumbs for grasping things. A panda should have at least two bamboo species where it lives, or it will starve. Pandas are shy; they don't go into areas {#blank#}10{#/blank#} people live. This restricts pandas to very limited areas.

    Anyone who has had a long-term disease knows that recovering at home can be lonely. This can be{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(especial) true of children. They may feel {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (leave) out. Now, these children may have a high-tech friend to help fed less alone. A small robot may help children who are recovering from long-term illnesses. The robot like human beings takes their place at school. And their school friends must help carry the robot between classes and place the robot on their desks.

    Through the robot, a child can hear his or her teachers and friends. He or she can also attend classes from wherever they are recovering—whether at home{#blank#}3{#/blank#}from a hospital bed. Dolva, one of the scientists who {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(be) concentrating on developing the robot, explains{#blank#}5{#/blank#}the robot AVI works. She says from home, the child uses a tablet or phone to start the robot,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (use) the same device, he or she can control the robot's movements. Inside the robots there is a small computer linked{#blank#}7{#/blank#}a 4G network.     Miners have dangerous jobs because occasionally the earth sinks or falls apart. When this happens, miners are {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(trap) underground. They are buried {#blank#}2{#/blank#} they don't have air to breathe, food to eat, and water to drink, they will die. They {#blank#}3{#/blank#} not go without any of these things for long, but the first is the most important. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}is difficult to figure out where miners are and reach them in time. Trapped miners dream of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (be) free and don't give up.

    First of all, you are {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (suppose) to respect the old's thoughts, backgrounds and life experience. Do not correct their opinions even when you can't reach any {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(agree). And when old people are talking, listen {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(careful). Let them finish because letting them express their thoughts and emotions {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(be) important.

    When you're together with them, try to know if they would like {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(chat) or be quiet. And when you feel they want to be quiet, just be there, because{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(spend) time with them is as important as talking to them or cheering them up.

    As communication with old people can be difficult, it is {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(importance) to be always patient. When you are explaining something {#blank#}9{#/blank#} them, you should remain patient when they ask you to repeat yourself. Try using gestures while you talk with them, or write down what you want to say when {#blank#}10{#/blank#}is necessary.

My wife and I like watching plays, so we will go to the theater whenever we have time. But before we buy tickets, we would like to know if the play is good or bad. When a new play comes, we {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (usual) read the newspaper to get information about it. Last week a new play was put on at the theater. The newspaper said it was very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (interest) so we decided to go on Saturday night.
